    Need some advice

I'm looking to buy a new set of tower speakers. It will either be the 8inch white dbot5's or wetsound pro 80s. I'll be replacing the stock kicker tower speakers for one of these two. What I want to know is...

    1. Is it worth the extra $100 for the wetsounds?

    2. Would I need to/ would you suggest upgrading my amp from the stock kicker ones?

Would I notice that much of difference if I didn't switch my amp? If you think I should, a suggestion on which one to get would be great.

Yes to the Speakers. I have heard both and propely powered wetsounds blow away the dbots.

Cant answer the amp questions as I do not know what kicker amp you currently have
    Let it be!!!

      spenchey2,

      PRO 80 of course!!! LOL

But in all seriousness, Another thing to think about is that DBOT5 is OUT of the tower speaker business. So that is why you see them discounted so much. So if there is any problems with them, there will be no support for you after the fact.

What kicker amp do you have?

Given what you're paying for a pair of speakers, the extra $100 is worth it, IMHO.

If it is the factory installed Kicker, it more then likely is the 350.4. If so, it will give the Pro80's 175W's rms in bridge mode.

Oh, and YES, the Wet Sounds are worth the extra $$$.

I have the factory installed kicker. I don't know what that is cause my boat is still in storage. I'm sure some one around here knows what it is. I have a 2006 22v.

Ok, if I do wet sounds should I get new amps or not? If so, which ones?

I'm 99% sure that you have the Kicker zx350.4 amp, if so, that will do 175W's continuous to your pro80's when wire in bridge mode. If you think you may add to the setup with another set of 80's or MB8's or a pro485, then now is the time to get a new amp, the Syn4

                      Tower Speakers:
                      - (1) pair of PRO 485 bridged. Power: 400 x 2.
                      - (2) pairs of PRO 60’s. Power: 125 x 4
                      - 3-SOME tower system: (1) pair of PRO 60’s or (1) pair of PRO 80's on channels 1 and 2 and a single PRO 485 bridged at 4 ohms on channels 3 and 4. Power: 125 x2 and 400 x 1.
                      - DOUBLE UP tower system: Power: 125 x 4

if it aint a wetsounds i would just throw it in the lake!! LOL J/K i do prefer the wetsounds. As far as the amp goes we would really need to know what amp you have to make that call. Now if you just want to be sure and wanna upgrade wetsounds amps are the shizz but im not real sure you will "need" a new amp. but you wont go wrong by going with a wetsounds amp.
