Dont need a new tower, just fix those racks. Give me some time to dig up the pics of what needs to be done. They should be under warranty if you are the original owner of the boat amd ought new. If not, the fix is cheaper then a new tower. If you want, i'll pm you my number and you can call me.

I sent him some pics that he forwarded to Tige but the did not warranty them, just as I thought. Wasatch did offer me a great price on skins though. Thanks guys.

I work for a local University and we have an amazing upholstery shop. After taking my seat cushions to them I have decided to let them recover my seats. the interesting thing is the original vinyl is very low grade and has a poor backing witch is causing my problems. The vinyl is actually seperating from the backing. This I was told is caused by poor and thin backing being used. I am not trying to bash anyone just trying to make others aware. Plus through the University I am getting it for half the price of the new ones from Tige and better quality.

Here is a few pics of the seats. I have owned this boat for 3 years now and It does not sit out in the sun and is stored in a heated garage all winter.

thats what my good ones look like. i got a quote of $3600. so im saving my pennies.

I replaced my stanard e- series tower with a Sampson Razor. I unfortunately tried to go thru a carport drive thru that was not tall enough and sheared the welds on both of the horizontal poles.

Because it was an accident my insurance on the boat covered it less my deductible.

Sampson Towers are really nice towers but are expensive as you will see if you go to http://www.samsonsports.com/

A few of us have gone with the Razor model.

Ragboy went with the Switchblade which looks great on his 24ve.

The towers are built well and the bimini tops are integrated fairly well and a made using Sunbrella material.

If it was not covered by insurance I would have either found the parts needed to fix my original tower or looked for something less expensive. Sampson does discount a little and if you compare retail on the Razor vs retail on a replacement e-series from Tige Sampson is about $500 more.

It is real easy to lower and with equivelant weight of speakers and such is a lot easier to put up since you ae not fighting the billets and the bimini tops. When folded, the tower sits lower than the Tige tower by about an inch.

The bimini also goes up real easy and is not prone to rattling like the stock one.

IMO I would see if you can get the replacement racks from Tige. As I indicated in my previous post, the cost to replace the stock tower with one of equal or better design is a bit on the costly side. A Sampson Razor would cost $4K plus shipping plus install unless you tackle yourself.

I sold my racks from the original e-series tower for a heck of a lot less than a replacement tower. If you can live with the stock tower see if you can get replacement racks under warranty and if that does not work out you can get some nice racks from other vendors which I am sure could be adapted to the Tige plate.

I was fortunate that my boneheaded move worked out for me. Insurance checked what the price of the Sampson was and approved it in a day. I was one lucky owner

Here are the pics of the reinforced and modified racks. I had the work done and Tige reimbursed me.

              How much $ total.

So Kona - I am wondering what it cost you total to redo your vinyl?? Did you remove your cushions or did the boys at the shop do that as well? I need to get mine done. Does your university happen to have a Y in the middle with a B at the beginning?

Yes yes it does. I am not doing a total redo. Just bottom cushions. All five bottom cushions will be about $300

That's a SWEET deal for sure - but then again, what would you expect from such an awesome university! Go Cougs!

Ok one more time I am not doing the whole boat just the back seat cushions that get stepped on . One yard is linear a yard at 52 in wide it will take about 6 yards to do by time you make the bends. We did not messure the whole boat because we are NOT doing the whole boat. Also I am staying with the original pattern so I need 2 colors

According to Home page of TigeOwners under downloads=warranties-vinyl it is supposed to be 5 years

Not trying to start a war here put you might want to look at stitching warranty in same section. Then take a look at his photos again. I THINK(dont know for sure) this is were tige is comming from IMPO.Its a tough call.Again im not trying to start a war.
Aslo its not real clear what year boats the warranty info there covers so this could be an issue as well.

No warranty for me. Sent Tony at Wasatch some pics and the factory said NO

Also new development. The vinyl that was the closest match almost identical has been discontinued. Now I will have to do the whole boat or order just the skins I need. I will probably just order the rear skins.

                            Bring On Another Thousand

Actually I can order all 5 rear seat cushions skins for $500 and my vinyl guy will install them for FREE

Kona where can i find a list of schools near me that have this.Do you know of any others?
Kona do you think or know the tige still has the vinyl that matches your boat? I cant see tige having 04 vinyl laying around but i could be wrong. So im not sure it will match any better than what you get from the other guys.Im not real sure of any of this just wondering.

I have no clue which warranty applies. I was just showing that there is another reference to Tige Vinyl being warranted from more than a year.

The stiching warranty is one year as defined in same section.

My swag is that if stiches pull through vinyl 1 year. If stiches okay but vinyl cracks then 5 year? At best my answer is a swag. I knew I should not have gotten involved with this quagmire
