Tige cushions.

So I know how everyone feels about the old tige cushions but mine are getting really bad. I had contacted Tony at Wasatch Marine and he was great working with me. I sent him some pics that he forwarded to Tige but the did not warranty them, just as I thought. Wasatch did offer me a great price on skins though. Thanks guys.

I work for a local University and we have an amazing upholstery shop. After taking my seat cushions to them I have decided to let them recover my seats. the interesting thing is the original vinyl is very low grade and has a poor backing witch is causing my problems. The vinyl is actually seperating from the backing. This I was told is caused by poor and thin backing being used. I am not trying to bash anyone just trying to make others aware. Plus through the University I am getting it for half the price of the new ones from Tige and better quality.

Here is a few pics of the seats. I have owned this boat for 3 years now and It does not sit out in the sun and is stored in a heated garage all winter.

Ya, Tige has been slammed for their seat cushion issues. Every year, Tige has been getting better and better vinyl

That is what the skins on my boat look like in places. Glad that you are getting a good deal!

Mine were exactly the same. Replaced once under warranty with the same quality stuff and lasted 2 more years. I had the recovered with the good stuff last spring, and now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

I have the same boat just a year older and I'm just starting to notice the same thing in a couple of spots. Just like yours, it's along the seams. You'll have to let us know how the new vinyl turns out. What's that costing you?

3m vinyl conditioner works great to keep it from drying like that and cracking..

Truth be told,if the interior in my boat was in good shape when I bought it I would have had it redone anyways.Gave me a chance to update the style and tone the boat down a bit with lighter not so hot vinyl.

One thing I noticed with my vinyl on my old boat. When I used it in the summer, there were no issue with the vinyl cracking. When I used it in the winter, the vinyl appeared to be more brittle and would crack / tear easily.

Kona, if you are redoing your vinyl, I'd highly recommend not having seams on any surface that will be stepped on. I had mine redone by a local vinyl guy and he actually recommended it.

That said, my vinyl lasted 8 years before it started having those problems. I was very careful with it.

The thing that really accelerated the decline was that spray-on sunscreen. It contains a lot of alcohol or some other chemical which is absolutely brutal on the vinyl. I confirmed this with my vinyl guy, so now it's been banned from the boat (I'm serious). Just thought I'd pass that along.

what did you do on your seats, did you have to redo the foam. I am not doing the foam.
