    Whats it worth? Need opinions

Allright guys here is the deal,
I am price comparing between 2 dealers
    Assuming the following:

    1. All boats are new.

    2. Boats are very similiarly optioned.

What is a model year worth? (how many thousand(s) $ )

What is local service, local warranty work worth? ( $ )

What is a lake test prior to purchase worth? ( $ )

    Whats a good relationship with a dealer worth? ( $ )

Thanks ahead of time for your

However, I think sparky might be a little off on the relationship with a dealer... Need to add a few more 0's to that mix.

          and the survey said...................................

As the buyer what are they worth to you. If all was equal except the model year go with newest model year. Out the door it will deprciate less than say a new 07 vs 09 etc.

Lake test no matter whose boat is a must.

I disagree with the newest model year being less depreciation. Once that boat hits the three year mark, you are going to be hit very hard. I personally would buy the oldest "new" boat that they have. That will be your best bet and you won't take the dealers markup prices if it were a new model.

Dealer trumps other issues. When you have an issue--even with a Tige you'll have some niggling issues--you'll thank your lucky stars you picked the right partner down the road. After the fact you won't remember the price you paid as much as how happy or upset you are with the ongoing relationship.

Some horror stories on this board of the "wrong dealer", lots of "I picked the right dealer stories."

The answer to depreciation is one that has many dependencies. A newer model as you say if not discounted heavily as related to the number the dealer may be using to push 07-08 stock would. In this case then you are right the dealer is eating the depreciation or lessor value to get them off their lot while the 09's aren't at same discounts yet but once sold the will appear to get hit with more depreciation.

OP, you could talk with the dealer and be honest with them and let them know about the other boat. If the owner/saleman says that they can't get it that low and it's a great deal, try and work with them and see if they could contact the Tige dealer with the boat you want ans see if they can make a deal with the other dealer that you both can agree upon. That way your dealer is still in the loop and you haven't burned any bridges either. If they say, you should go to the other dealer and get the boat, then you would be fine IMO

                    Model Year
While putting the link in the other thread about RZ2 to RZ4 I looked at 22ve from 2006 to 2008 (only boat that had 3 years and was still a cruuent model offered for sale)
2008-2007 average book no ads for options or trailers 7.9% drop
2007-2006 average book no ads for options or trailers 9.1% drop

                    Local Service and Warranty
First, what is "local", less than 100 miles or 2 hours each way or 6 blocks(depends on where you are in the USA). A dealer within a reasonable distance and with an obligation to take care of you might mean more weekends on the water and less waiting, it also might mean you get things fixed for free rather paying or doing it yourself, or worse, not ever getting minor things fixed. I would say $1000

                    Lake test
Anyone that buys a boat without a lake test is CRAZY. Especially from anyone in a climate where it freezes. A cracked engine can cost $4k or more. Also how do you know everything works? Are you going to take it on faith that it will work because the seller said so? Things can go bad just sitting. It would be a must for me, Value $500-$5000 Peace of mind? Priceless.

                    Relationship with a dealer
Talk to them, and see. Loyal customers get better quicker service. Might not be worth thousands but something. Maybe it shouldn't be that way, but it is.

                    Just my
