Check this deal he has going; http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/boa/1051418252.html
You guys should see the local MC dealers lot, seriously, they've got to have 50-60 boats crammed on their lot, maybe more! I don't know how they have survived this long!

I always hate to see businesses go under. Owners lose everything, and their employees lose their jobs. It will be interesting to see what the marine industry looks like when the dust settles from the current economic mess. There will obviously be survivors, but I would think the industry could likely take another series of hits even after the markets stabilize. Higher income tax rates and higher fuel taxes will not exactly help sales. And that's assuming that taxes won't go higher on luxury items like boats or serious increases in registration costs. Fortunately, there are smart people behind a lot of these companies, and they will do their best to restructure their operations for long term survival.

The economy is bad as we all know it but I think the real killer here was the lack of water that we had last year. When the news broadcasts that we are in need of water, it sways the boat buyer to not buy. Why would you want to buy a boat when there isn't any water? You wouldn't so the industry has taken a huge hit becuase of that IMO.

Best wishes to those who are in employment trouble....that sucks.
- MP I have a lot of family in the chi-town area and they say it is starting to hit hard up there.
- I am wondering if once we start to rebound if boat manufacturers will review pricing on boats and if the market will come down. It seems like you can't get a boat for less than $40-50knew now and then the crazyness of 24 footers going up to $100k serious I could buy a second house and make it a rental for that.

This is what they have that might be of interest:
1) life jackets
2) ropes and handles (tons of them but be warned, they have been sitting in the warehouse for 2 years)
3) flags
4) bumpers
5) misc engine parts (not Marine Power or PCL)
6) 3-5 wakeboards from CWB
7) a double ski (now sure what brand)
8) about 25 Tige's
9) fishing boats
10) Sea-Rays
Just off the top of my head.
