Will Tige Survive?
I am concerned about the bigger picture. In the last year Tige has gone thru a couple of layoff's, a plant shutdown and I am sure they are watching expenses as much as they can.
Although they have I think the best products for their price point ( otherwise I would not have bought mine) I wonder what the new facility is costing them. If that place is leased and not owned it has got to be a hell of a drain on cash and next to salaries may be one of their major expenses.
If I am not mistaken, they are now under 100 employees with high overhead and no real residual income with exceptions to some extended service agreement money that the dealer get the bigger chunk out of them.
This is not meant to be mean or a bash on Tige but can they survive the current recession and the nightmare it is causing to many of us. As of yesterday I lost my full time employment with a company I have been with 26 years. 16 with current ownership and 10 with previous owners. At one point when product was a key focus the company did all they could do to keep me. Now I am in a different world. They did not slam the door on me and are treating me as fair as possible but can no longer afford me.
Will this happen at Tige? Can they survive as their dealer organization continues to struggle. I hope for the best for Tige the company, the Tige employee and Tige the boat and all Tige dealers in these tough times. If Tige fails screw the warranty. The boat depreciation will kill us. I really want Tige to be one of the survivors!!!!! . Let's hope Tige can They have the products but the market is ??????.
My dealer has 4 or 5 Tige's they have been trying to move at high discounts for over a year now and they have not moved one. They also sell Azure and Chaparral but are not advertising on the net discounted numbers for those brands. The market they are in is owned by MC, BU. You will see the other key brands but Tige is rare. Those 5 boats have cost to the dealer or Tige or both that to survive Tige and the dealer need to move that stock. Somehow Tige needs to stop the bleeding of cash. They said a while back they had low or no debt. I hope that is still the case. I hope they can handle what is in store for the marine industry as a whole!!!!
Good Luck CWS and Tige worldwide.
