ATTN: Capital Water Sport - Rancho Cordova CA

I am sad to announce and got off the phone with the owner of CWS. They are closing their doors. I will provide additional information about warranty and servicing work (Kevin Brickhandler has told me the location but I will post once I have more information).

Tri-Valley marine is still available and will be selling Tige's. They will the most Northern California representative for Tige.

CWS is having a sale on everything. EVERYTHING MUST GO... 50% off

    Do they have a website?

Okay, maybe not the boats at 50% OFF

Their website is not good so I wouldn't suggest it.

          Sucks to see this.

I have been wondering just how many dealers are going to close doors given the economy. I know of 2 towboat dealers in the NE that are treading water, but just barely. Lots of old new stock on the lots. They took on a lot of trade-ins to move interest laden new units. Not sure there is any value (perhaps negative value) in the trade in units at this point.

Too bad about CWS. I wish them the best and hopefully a speedy rebound. The dealers along I-80 don't look happy either.

As for sales in general, a local travel trailer dealer is strictly stocking used units picked up at auction, repo and the like. He'll special order new, but finds the clean used ones are selling. Private party sales are tough since many are so upside down on their late model units with nearly infinite term loans.

I just couldn't justify allocating the required share of disposable income on a $50K or more toy. In retrospect, the loan I made myself to pay cash for the 2002 has paid off well. The market decline I would have otherwise suffered over the last year or so on that money has made my boat cost me net about half.

In retrospect, $5.00 diesel was a cheap price to pay for a 14K stock market.

Wow da, thats terrible news. All the folks at CWS were always great to work with, and went the extra mile for the customer needs. I know they always supported the Tige efforts, and commeraderie. They will be missed. I wish well to them all.
(and good luck to Tri Valley Marine in Livermore)

I wouldn't bank on Tri Valley Marine either. I work 1 mile from them and as of right now they are locked down and not answering their phone. The meager web site they have does not list hours either. I can also say they are dead everytime i've driven by BUT i don't know so I wouldn't jump to conclusions either.

I just drove by Tri Valley, and like Razz said: Gates are closed, and no sign with buisness hours.

Geez. I was going to have my custom ballast install done too. Had it all quoted and everything from CWS.

We need a Tige dealer in Redding.

As a fellow dealer I hate to see this happening. I really feel for the CA market right now, I think they have suffered worse than any of us.
