    Dan,
Grab a case of beer and some fat girls for ballast and you're welcome out with us until you can swing the purchase.
We typically hit Lake Geneva midweek (normally Tues or Wed afternoon) and one of the other lakes or the chain every single weekend. Give me a holler if you wanna ride. As a disclaimer, we all SUCK, so don't think you're going to see a clinic or anything. We all have mad skills on a tube though! lol

btw: I love the lokk of the color combo you picked but I'd worry about that black tower in the sun--it will get scorching hot to touch it.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

He also believes that he is their only customer and they are just sitting around twiddling their thumbs waiting for him to come calling with a problem.

Akdoc, if both the dealers you dealt with turned out to "horrible", sorry, but you need to look at the common denominator there

Last year during show season, when the economy was still decent and orders where coming in, Tige told us about 6 weeks turn around. As things got slow in lat Summer, even after a work force reduction, they said 3 weeks. And yes, this does depend on a few factors: Dealer prep once he has it, but the biggest is shipment from Tige to the dealer. It cost money to ship a boat, a lot if it's just a single boat so if the dealer can get 3 or so orders in at once, then he will have a truck load coming in which he can spread the cost over more boats. This in turn, keeps his costs down as well as the Delivery/Prep portion of the selling price.
2 new boats ordered and they both took 3+ months, so I can tell you from past experience that is how long it took. Now that was during boat show season. I never said dealers shouldn't make a profit. In fact I liked Stateamind in St. Louis, good people. Had a bad experience with them ordering a part, other than that I guess I should state their service especially parts person is out of the loop on what parts are really needed to fix a problem. Sales was great there. I wouldn't want to take any business away from Joel at Stateamind...he is a good guy so I will retract my blanket statement about them being horrible, however their parts guy needs to get up to date.

As far as the other dealer, the person we dealt with has been fired a while ago from what I understand...and I wasn't the only one that had a problem with him.

So chpthril not trying to say you shouldn't make a profit, but honest build times would be good. We were told both times 6 weeks. If you can honestly say only 3-6 good for you.

I'll probably take you up on that Jason, thanks! No fat women, but I can put on some weight before summer. If not, I'll just replace that weight with more beer and steaks for afterwards.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I know used is the best value in this current market, but I bought someone elses problems in the past and have hard time getting myself to buy used again. Plus, I know I'm in the minority, but I really like the new tower.

As long as you aren't very tall, I think you will love the Alpha Z tower. We sure do. Great visibility for the driver, no bimini straps, easy to lower and raise, and (some people think) it looks great.

As chpthril said, several things can make a difference in how long it takes from order to delivery. How many orders does the factory already have? Are there any plant shutdowns planned? How long after the build is completed until your dealer gets it shipped? (My dealer drove to Abilene and picked it right up.) How busy is your dealer while they prep it, and are you having any additional work done? Ours took about ten days or so until we took delivery, but much of that time was because we had them performing stereo modifications.

All of these variables are why some buyers may get their boats 3-4 weeks after the order, and some may be 3 months. Definitely, if you have the time to plan it out with your dealer, I am sure they will work hard to meet your schedule.

You can find a really clean low hours boat, for a good price, and then pay your dealer to check it out. That is what I did, and we were very happy with it last year, and can't wait to use it this year.

(Just a thought, and my )

No problem! You know how to get ahold of me.

Don't worry about bringing the fat girls if you don't know any. We usually just bait the swim deck with some Cheetos and ice cream, that works out ok in Kenosha!! Of course, replacing the weight with beer sounds like a viable option that is sure to win you some fans with my group of friends, maybe that's a better option.

If AKdoc is talking about a 2006 boat he bought, then he is correct. At that time, Tige was making boats as fast as they could in the old factory and they also were selling boats like mad. I know guys who did wait a very long time. I think we have a better grip now on how fast Tige builds boats, so I think CHP's estimate is correct, but I remember it taking months and months before at peak time.
                  Be excellent to one another.

Only 5'10", so I'm sure the tower won't be a problem. Jason brings up a good point with the color; how hot (to the touch) does your tower get after sitting in the sun during the day?

I used to think the same way, but if you put some time in their are deals out there that you cant pass up. I bought a bank repo RZ2 about a month ago. I saved a ton of money and the boat had more options and other stuff on it that I could'nt of afforded otherwise.

How did you go about finding it?

It was pure stupid luck, I like to say it was ment to be. I was on onlyinboards looking at Tiges and every other web site out. I used to check them every day to see if anything new was listed. One day they listed a RZ2 for sale that the price was so low I thought it was a mistake, plus it was only 3 hours away from my home. So I called them right away and found out it was a repo the dealership bought back from the bank. The dealership was the original seller of the boat. So they sent me pictures that same day we worked a couple of things out over the phone and now I get to pick up my new boat in a couple of weeks.
