Spent the day at the Miami boat show with my daughter Livy today. Saw some incredible boats, but sadly could not find a single Tige

Started on at the in-water display with all the major yacht mfgrs. on display. What an incredible display of wealth. Unfortunately you have to have deep pockets to get on the 100' plus models.

After walking around the docks for a little while we came upon a manatee enjoying the show. Huge ugly bastards are the reason why we have to spend so much time driving slowly in the no wake zones. Particularly hard when your boat is designed to make a wake.

The boat lift I rented last year looks lonely without my boat on it.

Anyone need a Sport Fisherman (my dream boat)

Biggest wakeboard boat I have ever seen. The Mastercraft 300:

Should be called the 400 because this one was a bit over $400k as it sat

No other purpose than to go really fast!

Everyone needs to have three engines hanging off the back. Just in case the first two fail...

If three is good, four must be better

And with this reasoning, if four is better, five is a must have!

You'll never get stranded. That is if you don't run out of fuel.

With the Bal Harbor Police boat on a trailer, they can't give me a ticket for going too fast in the no wake zone

And back to Collins Ave to get our truck and head home to reality. Just a sea of unsold boats. The show had a poor attendance this year definitely due to the economy. There were some amazing deals to be had though if you have the money

The thing is that the initial investment is only a portion of the total cost. Just think how much we spend on our 20-24 footers. Some of these hold 10,000 gallons or more of fuel! Plus the dockage around Miami is about $15-20 per foot per month. That's around 20K a year just to park your boat. That small lift I rented on the intercoastal normally goes for $400 per month. I got a deal for about half because we were renting a condo across the street.

Mastercraft 400 uh? That's just too funny. You can buy a Cobalt 323 for that many bucks, and have "CHANGE" to give back to Nacy Polosi.

My favorite time at the miami show was a couple years ago at the lazzara display on collins and after going through the 110-footer, the representative that walked us around says the asking price is only $8.2-million, and asked us if we would like to speak with a sales counselor? I was 25 at the time, yeah, I wanted to take it home! Atleast they were kind enough to take us on the boat, even let us ride in the elevator!
