Tige last on JD Powers?

What is going on!? Tige was rated last on JD Powers' new report? How can that be? I think Tige makes a great quality boat with great wakes. Who the heck rates these boats, non-boaters and non-wakeboarders? http://www.jdpower.com/Boats/ratings...g-boat-ratings

That is funny that correct craft had a better rated engine considering tige has the same engine. They also rate correct craft high in quality which is wrong have you seen there new tower the welds were lets say i was very unimpressed.

Apparently Tigé, Supra & Malibu were outbid by the Natique.

Working for an organization that has won some of the J.D. Power awards in years past, I don't put any stock in them at all. As Fast mentioned, it is politics (and also money going into the proper places).

They also have Supra there and Malibu barely above them. I'm not sure what lake they surveyed - what a farce.

Another funny thing is It lists Moomba having better quality and reliability than the Supra.... when it's the SAME BOAT mechanically! HAHA.

What a joke. A Moomba rates better than a Tige? I think manufacturers pay like $10-20,000 for the "honor" of getting evaluated by JD. I bet Tige is pissed! The boat industry needs Consumer Reports or someone independent that doesn't take money to test and evaluate boats.

I do think that is wierd about the engines. Being the same as Nautique one would think it would at least be a lot closer together. Maybe it has to do with cruise control since the Nautiques are using Zero-Off, I found the speed set on Tige to be very hard to engage sometimes loaded down.

Overall Tige is ahead of Supra and Moomba, and not too far behind the big 3. I do not understand the sound system ratings either, shouldnt having Wetsounds standard count more than all the rest like Polk or JL. I would have to say Tige has the best stock setup.

I would just like to see how they tested before you call it a Joke.

I'm at work and could not spend a lot of time reading over this study, but here is the link. If I am looking at the customer satisfaction ratings show Tige was 5th out 7 in overall ratings - CC scored a 907 vs Tige's 862 on a 1000 point scale. Maybe I'm missing something, but read the study and try to determine yourself if a 55 point difference is significant or not.

Considering moomba and Supra are owned by the same company and supra, the more expensive, gets a worse rating. And engine is a stupid category anyway. No one makes their own engines, they just slap their name on it. They all use Indmar except tige and nautique.

I know that in years past the "sample size" is the problem for Tige. If you break this down there are not very many people getting surveyed. less than 10,000 for the whole industry, and according to Boating Industry there were over 271,000 powerboats built. If my math is correct that is about 3.557% of new boat purchasers get to comment on their satisfaction. If Tige built 900 boats that would mean that about 32 people would decide Tiges fate in the survey.

At "Tige U" sales school last fall they claimed that in past years the sample size was too small to determine Tige's position. There were not enough responses to form a legitamate statistical average. I feel the NMMA (National Marine Manufaturers Assoc)survey is much more accurate, They are supposed to send a survey to every new boat buyer.

Also the cost for the JD powers is very high I have heard between 30k-50k depending upon the company. It has to sell a lot of boats to be worth it. And every buyer/dealer is going to have that number added into your new boat. Nothing comes for free.

I owen a 02 went to the vancouver boat show. the fit and finish on new tige is outstanding .the same motor as some other boats .I dont understand??

Well since the survey was from previous years maybe that has a lot to do with it. Tige was using Marine Power for engines then and its less of a name than the others.

The survey sample is prolly whats killing Tige in these, theres not as many boats, and people just dont submit them.

I agree with the Supra Moomba being backwards, but if you think about it as people buying the Moomba expecting less and getting more. It could be a perceived thing where as the Supra owners would expect more and in my opinion the supra isnt that much nicer than the Moomba.

I've recevied these survey's four times now. 2 x's for the 24Ve and 2 x's for the RZ2. They ask about how loud the engine is and I honestly answer that it's loud but I am very, very happy with the engine. JD Powers does not take into account that a FAE can be put onto the exhaust and they don't ask that question. So, the survey to start with is flawed.
