Tige Prices - UTAH Boat Show

I know this may not sit very well with the Tige loyals, but I saw MSRP on Tiges at the Utah show around $100,000 for the RZ4 (reduced to $80,000 range for boat show pricing). That seems high given our current economic situation.

Not surprised at that one. Someone on WW mentioned it also but didn't say the model of the boat. However, it probably won't even be sold for $80k also. As you said, the economy is tanking.

Hey Zeda - Good to hear from you. My favorite part of the show was that there was a sold sign on every Mastercraft - selling like hotcakes

The Mastercraft dealer understand it is time to cut the losses and get rid of the inventory before it ages and he goes into the red furthur than he probably already is. It would be interesting to drive by his lot in a couple of weeks to see if everyone picked up there boats they bought.

$100K for a TIGE that is nuts. What does it have on it to be worth 100K. Is it like a 30' yacht or somthing? WOW.

I thought that was interesting as well. I talked to my Mastercraft buddy and all those boats were sold over the last several months with an added $ incentive to let the dealer floor the boat and display at the boat show. He also did not go to the show because before the show the Mastercraft dealer does a really nice customer appreciation event that all current or potential buyers are invited to. They offer their show specials and other incentives with out having to worry about buyers shopping the competition. The pricing must have been pretty decent for Mastercraft because my buddy is looking at trading his x-30 for an x-star, and this guy is usually pretty tight. He has wanted the x-star all along and says that this year maybe the year to switch with the pricing they are offering.

I love my Tigé, but these local MC guys are pretty good at marketing and everyone I have talked to that has dealt with them say they are great before, during and after the sale. Which as we all know is as important as what boat to buy.

Aonther bit of useless info is that I know or have an acquaintance that is good friends with the owner of Marine Products, he says they are claiming selling 21 boats at the show. That seems like a great number for this economy. They sell Supra, Moomba, and some fishing brand.

For some reason the economy in Utah is not as hard hit as some other states.

I know we are not feeling the hurt as bad as others, but it is still not good. I think are just behind not above the national economy. We will porbably recover later and take longer than others is what concerns me.

Try Bako, the fastest growing for a while then it switched and we are the fastest tanking city now. The average median home price is $90K. We have lost $200K+ on our home right now.

I remember Bako when I was a child. The house my dad purchased in 1978 was $90k

The fact is that Tige has placed themselves to compete with the big 3. That is in quality, service and performance. I think they actually do compare very well with them. The problem with this is that they have not been able to do it without the same price tag. I think you shop a comparably equipped NEW Bu, CC, MC and Tige and you will be in the same ballpark right now...at least in Utah that is, unless you stumble upon a very good deal.

The MC guys might have been advertising 100k for an X-45, but then I bet when they get you behind the curtain, you then get stoked when you get it in the 80's if you are a good negotiator. Then you look at the RZ4, and there are many people that paid in the 80's for theirs.

Also, when I was shopping for boats, the deals in California and elsewhere were way better than Utah...so I do think the local economy has not been hit as bad. Arizona also seemed out of touch with the rest of the country.

There isn't a "MSRP" for boat. The builder doesn't produce a "window sticker" for each boat built. It is very common for the dealer to make up there own MSRP based on their cost and then reduce it to the margin they hope to make.

It is also common to place sold stickers on boat in the show to create some excitement. "Selling like hotcakes". It's not like the dealer can't get more boats.
Indecision may or may not be my problem

I have seen a spec sheet from Tige corporate with MSRP listed for various items, beginning with the base price for the boat. So I know it does exist, but is not widely shared, like in the auto industry.

Yes I agree the demand for new nicer technology has increased the prices it seems. TIGE has defiantly built boats comparable to other high end manufactures now and like Tall said the price came with it.
