It doesn't. I think SPBFAN is trying to talk you into a new prop , which isn't a bad idea if you want more hole shot.

It increases back pressure in the exhaust and in some cases will give you a little more bottom end torque. Not a whole lot but a little. This has been the reports from others who have installed it. Not everyone gets this benefit though.

On the flip side to that I have heard you may loose a couple of miles per hour on the top end as well. I can get my boat up to 46 MPH so I don't mind if I loose some 2 MPH of the top.

I did some research and it looks like a sweet set up. Now if I read things right the bottom of the pipe will not be deeper then your prop right? I have hit a few sticks before and wounder if it could rip off the piping. I'm sure people had some miss haps and just wondering how it did after it. I like the sweet sound of boat so I'm not sure if this would out weigh the few times I do surf.

No this is open to anyone any year boat. Infact we have one getting meassurment for an 09 model right now to submit.

No issues at all with the FAE, loved it 100%

No upgrade for, will probably be a yr or two before I'm able to get back into a boat, it it will most likely be a fixer-uper

Sad to say, it was not actually the economy.
