Sorry to hear you have to sell your boat. When I sold mine it was a relief not having the payments due to financial issues. It isn't all that bad not having a boat. I enjoyed going on friends boats last summer and not having to deal with launching and loading. Buying used is the only way to go and hopefully you will be back in the game by next spring.

I used to be a member in the past.
I need to take my swim deck off every time I park my boat.
So my question is:
How much weight does the FAE put on its supports. I’m thinking of welding some metal
onto the swim deck brackets (on the boat)
They would have to be curved to miss the trim plate.
The curve would put odd loads everywhere. So are the loads
real small? like a few lbs?

FAE makes a quick release system so you can take off your deck.

But the FAE doesn't come off, correct? I use every inch in my garage, and although I'd like to add FAE, I don't think I'll be able to because of this
The FAE will add about 6-8 inches beyond the TAPS plate. It would be a pain in the arse to remove/reinstall the FAE every time you went out. Once in spring, once in Fall would be no big deal.

No effect on wake as it's right inline with the rest of the running gear: tracking fins, strut, prop, rudder. The only spray that some complain about is up between the transom and swim platform, but it's very little if any.

I talked to Larry ( might be wrong name) and between the quick disconnect for Swim platform and quick release clamps he thought he had solution for people like me who need to remove and then put back on every time we travel.
The assumption is that I will be able to keep boat which is up in the air at a high altitude of hope.
