    Boat Dock/Lift for 24Ve

Well it looks like we are in a perfect storm. Normally there is a 500 person waiting list to get a slip in our marina. If you called and asked for one, they laughed at you. With the low levels, and economy, there is availability and I am going to move on it. It seems that the slips don't have the ability for electricity or restrictions to put in a big lift. Has anyone seen/used any drive up type dock? I have found this:

It says for 22' boat, going to find out about 24. Any input would be appreciated.

There's a cantilever style lift that works using solar power that you should look at: Sunstream Floating Hydraulic Boat Lifts

My dad has used one of the solar powered cantilever lift for three years in Annapolis. Sits in saltwater year round andit is still fine. The jet dock is appealing and less, but I have seen it not be able to fully get some boats out of the water.

Before you use any type of drive on, check around and make sure that it won't mark up the bottom of the boat. Can you use a hoist that rests on the lake bed? As for power I agree with the other posters. Solar power works good. I've also used 12v from the boat battery.
Indecision may or may not be my problem

I think they were something like $13K a year or two ago when I priced them out.

There is no way on the lake bed, it would have to be floating. Power is probably going to have to be solar or from boat.

Don't they have manual hoists? Would take awhile to do but you cold bring a cordless drill with the right fitting to get that this up..

I think a company by the name of either hydrohoist or hydrahoist makes floating lifts. Sounds like the problem is power. This might be a little overkill but what about a small gass generator to run it?

Hydrohoists are good. They use a blower to raise the lift. You might be able to buy a small jumpcharging units to power the blower.
If its not fun, Why do it?

While on the topic of boat lifts I am also looking for a boat lift for a slip for our 22ve. Looking for a lift to set on the lake bottom. The water is very shallow. I am not picky about an automatic lift. Any suggestions on what to look for would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

                          This website has floating lifts
                          http://http://www.shoremaster.com/lifts/floating/smfloatinglift.htm
I could not find out how big the pumps are but you could use the power from the boat depending on pump size or do a solar system.
