    Super Fly High

Has anyone on here ridden behind one or have an opinion?

Chpthrl and I started a little conversation but neither of us knows that much about them yet. They are allowing them in barefoot tournaments now but there seems to be a 50/50 wash in the for/against info I can find online.

I am into barefooting which looks like that sport would benefit the most but wanted to hear some thoughts before dropping the $1000.00.

    Thanks,

    G

Thanks Chp, will do. I would have thought there would have been a couple of opinions out of this group, or maybe it is just me.

Would anything like this void any of your warranty? I mean you are putting a different stress on the tower than would be normal.

I'm going to throw a second question out there. There have been plenty of threads out there on why people shouldn't tow tubes from towers bc of the stress. Are there any issues with barefooting off the tower? I know I've read that flyhighs are helpful when learning barefooting tricks, but I feel like barefooting throws a lot of drag. Not when going, but on crashes and on starts.

Good Question! I would guess they have some kind of general dsiclaimer stating that it would but I have no idea.

I'd be less concerned about the tower itself than the fiberglass it's mounted in

Back in 99 I got my 1st boat w/ a tower (Pro Air) and we used to pull a single person in a tube from the tower and never had a problem. I'm not saying we were smart, probably just lucky.

I would imagine that a good wakeboarder who knows how to load the line can place a lot more stress on the tower than a barefooter. All the Barefoot Sangers and the one or other 2 barefoot specific boats come w/ towers and they use them for tournaments, plus Mike Seiple (owns BFI) sells them with that intent.

We have always barefooted from the tower and I have never given it a second thought.

I know some people might think we were crazy but we used to do a single back wrap in the ski show from a tower. Made that a lot easier too and we never had any problems w/ that tower.

I think the towers can handle just about anything except for a low bridge or a garage door, but the manufacturers have to lay out all the disclaimers & warnings to keep from being sued.

I used to tow a tub behind my boat on my tower, even towed two tubes with two big guys and no stress cracks or anything. I think it would be fine with a barefooter, but just my

I have used one to wakeboard with. My friend Freddie has one that we had on his RZ4 over the summer. Its a pain to put up and down, and I mean a pain. If you are somewhere you can leave it up all the time go for it but its not worth the time and effort if you ask me.

Freddie got it for barefooting but I dont think he ever got to use it over the summer. It does help get you up in the air I think, I jumped some rollers and got about as high as I did behind the boat. Landings were softer also. I think it does work

Thanks for the post highrock that is definitely something to consider since we keep the boat in a garage. I will see what I can find out about the install process and post up the info if anyone is interested.
