Tigeowners.com Redesign - We want your input

After four years of the initial launch of Tigeowners.com the time has finally come for a new and improved site. To start things off the update will include a re-design and updated content. Since Tigé values input from the owners we would also like to hear what you would like to see in this overhaul.

We have several new ideas but wanted to get your input as well so lets hear it.

What do you like about the site and what don't like you about it?

Have the News thats on the Home Page be in a header at the top of the forum. Maybe the same for the Poll.

I know for me I never am on /index.html. My browser directly goes to the url of /forum.

Great site and I appreciate all the work that goes into making it happen. I visit very often, but don't post much.

My suggestions-
I enjoy the galleries and seeing everyone's pictures, but it is not easy to navigate or cruise through. Maybe a better way of indexing, sorting, or whatever.

The download section could be a great resource but really doesn't have that much. Most of the copied material doesn't list dates, so you don't know what years it applies to. You expect to see info in vinyl, but there is just a sheet on a commercial product. Nothing on engines- where info on fluids, capacities, or DIY stuff would be helpful. Last I looked there was only one service advisory. I know that Tige boats are good, but I bet there is more info than that. I'm sure you get the idea.

A way to print PM's like an email.

I dont visit/post on any other sites but WW, and I can tell you I 100% hate that forum. Nothing at all is user friendly.......the search SUCK bad, you cant find a thing.

For this site, I like the Social groups that can be set up, the IM feature on everyones profile page. I like the Albums that can be set up, much easier to look at pics then going through the Gallery. I like the way the topics are laid out. I'd like to see more info and more complete info in the Model Specs and downloads section.

I would just like to be able to use some more different smiley's and a larger PM box like everyone has said.

Also do away with the 30 second rule. (I'm so just kidding!! )

Matt you do a great job on this site, and not much really needs to be done to it IMO. It would be cool if we could use either larger and moving Avatars or allow a larger Signature with the ability to put a picture in it.

I love it. More downloads though would be nice. More Tige propaganda and such. Maybe an audio streaming thing like a tigeowners radio station while surfing the site. Just a playlist and members can post songs and it will just shuffle though the songs all the time.

I respectfully disagree with Dom's suggestion of larger signature areas with pictures. I find it very annoying when I go to forums in which some users have ten quotes and pictures in their signature. To me, it makes it tough to read and follow the thread with all that distraction.

I understand what your saying Dingle and do agree with you there. I was just thinking of something larger, but not too large. For example in my Z06vette.com we can have I think it's 4-6 lines and have a signature, such as our vette, or maybe your cars arranged in a collage of sorts. It's kind of cool and doesn't affect the reading. Also, I believe when you sign up you can select option to see other's signatures so you could take it out if you don't like to see them. Again, just an option.

Cool guys thanks for the input and comments so far. Just so you all know I am meeting with Tige about the redesign and overhaul of the site so all of these comments and suggestions will be considered.

Gear is something that we really need. I have stressed this a whole lot with Tige but for some reason it never made it. This is one thing that I want to see as well and will push this.

Paublo, we are implementing an updated version of the gallery sometime in the coming weeks. I have the software but haven't made the upgrades since work has had me working nights and weekends. Hopefully with this new version browsing and viewing images is easier.

One thing that I want to do is wherever you are at the site you always have a view of the polls, news, or random gallery images. Sort of like a right hand column that displays that. I think most people come straight to the forums and missing the other dynamic content like the polls or news.

The downloads section does need to be updated. That section has tons of potential but hasn't been used to its fullest extent. In my opinion, I think Tige has the content and would like to see it there but I think sometimes we forget to post it. I think the break down is the communication.

Yes. I agree too. I try to keep the forums easy to read and navigate. Giving the users permission to have signature access is just another thing I have to manage. One or two users will abuse this and ruin it for the rest.

You can download all of your Private Messages and then print them.

At the bottom of your Private message list it gives you this:

Larger avatars! Not huge but a little bit bigger would me nice.


Maybe some king of pic competition where we can submit pix of out boats or boat related things and do a monthly/ quarterly vote for the best pic and the winner gets some tigeowners gear, Everyone knows how much we love pix and gear

Bring back the accessories thread!!!........

Maybe we can have a place to vote people off tigeowners, survivor style.

Really tho, I think the sight is top notch and Matt you do a great job of running it!!!
