Ok guys I think we have beat the dead horse way too many times, enough with the name calling.

Jake, since you are new to this forum, let me give you a quick break down of the history of the forum and its members.

A hand full of members have organized various group buys, anything ranging from towels, impellers to props. The intention of this is to help out other Tigeowners as well as give the buyer a small discount. It's safe to say that the person arranging the group buy doesn't gain much when you consider the time and cost it takes to get these things going. The members who have done this are legitimate, I have even participated in group buys. So no one is "running off" with your money and no one is getting ripped off.

This forum is built around the camaraderie of Tige owners who share the same passion. Everyone on this board is here to help each other out in any way the can, whether it be suggestions of a boat name, group buy or info on Tiges. So lets try to keep it this way.

        Matt
        Matt,

        Thank you for the clearification.

        Best Regards/

I am doing my best to stay away from the urination contest both here and other threads with you, didn’t really have a horse in the race. But a good friend of the designer and a fellow mechanical engineer I feel obligated to "try" to educate you. ASTM is not a testing agency, they are a standards creation agency and simply try to standardize product testing, and they don’t actually perform any testing. (see that word “standards” is their name and everything). I think what you really need to say is: “how us the MIL-STD 810 testing on this product testing looser.” Just trying to help out.

BTW: Between everybody involved in the light there is about 30 yrs of Military electronics design experience so there is a bit of knowledge on what it takes to pass MIL tests but they are not cheap to perform. But tell you what, if you are willing to pay for the MIL testing, I will make a bet with you it passes. I will even let you pick the bet.

Actually, that would be a good deal and I would had taken you up on it 9 months ago. I bought a SCCH Singleton at a closing Tier 1 plant in Rochester (Veleo), but quickly flipped it (sold it). Yes, it had 810, CE, UL and ASTM preprogrammed. Full temperature, humidity and salinity capabilities. But it seems the issue of outside testing is dead here so time to move on. Yes, I fully understand the cost involved. For new start-up companies with new products its often not feasible. I do not buy hype. I typically look for products with longevity as well as companies that will be here tomorrow.

However, my test would not be certifiable as I am not an accrediated lab. Also, I did not make reference to ASTM being an agency, but thank you for the clearification.

Onward.....I'm looking for some nice blue transome lights.
Right now I'm sold on the Ocean Led 2010 Xenon.

Has anybody bought and installed a 2010 or 3010?

          Anybody?

Update: For those that dont visit Wake World, WW member "G" has put together an LED test and the guys as Shadow Casters have provided him with 2 lights I'm expecting awesome results. No doubt these will outperform the lights listed in the other led group buy here on TO's

Here is the current thread, but I beleive they will start a new one once the test is done and results are ready!

None yet, one of the guys helping out had twins on the original test weekend, since then, they have had trouble taking quality, consistent pics. Grant wont post up the results til they get good pics.

I couldn't imagine what it takes to pass military specs. In my younger days before my father retired...we recieved the bid on a gov. building. Wow, never again! There was a 40 page spec sheet on just the window caulking alone! That's not an exaggeration either! I never knew it was so complicated to explain how to caulk windows. My painter about had a heart attack when I tossed him the "book" to look over...lol. I just couldn't imagine the standards required for mil-spec, on equipment.

That's funny that you mention how much more difficult it is when working with dod/mil specifications for projects. I recently moved to a new company that does a lot of dod work and I just started working in a secure room, can't even take my cell phone or stainless coffee cup into the room with me. The statement of work packets for most of the jobs are as you said, "manuals" in the truest sense. I'm glad Grant isn't posting half a$$ results, but he did say if he put some on his boat based on looks it would be the Shadow-Casters

One things for sure.... you can't ever say "that wasn't part of the description, or no one told me"!

The auto setting pictures didn't make the shadowcasters look good. But again, the camera is making the decission on everything.
