does hot cold cycling make for problems?
I saw some pics, I'm still not clear about:
will it do what I want, just the way I want.
cool ....yes it is.. safe "enough" not so much yet.
I'm still ciphering and doing my goesintos.
      like I said (1/2 measures)
I had hopes of someone else jumping first
and testing the water depth before I jumped

Thermal cycles are typically not a problem with LEDS. Also, the water will not actually be hitting the LED, but surrounding the LED housing thus creating a means for heat transfer and cooling. There should not be issues with safety if the installed correctly using the recommended gasket as well as a little 3M5200 around the wire hole and screw holes. It is also recommended that some sort of properly rated circuit protection, either a fuse or breaker, be used as with any electrical installation.

Maybe Mtnsmith and Mneal can share their experiences with these light as to how they look while in use in the water.

is short enough time out of water to keep them cool?
(I'm sure there is some splashing too, more could be made)
so heating I'm okay (I think)
              so area lit up?
my deck is almost at water line (1-2 inch) with mounting area out of water. while under way
sooo what does it look like 15 ft back on top of the wave?
sorry for too much detail but it's a chunk of change for me.

I'm thinking one on my surf side and
tower down flood lights 400 watts (1 facing back and 1 facing out)
how many amps did you say?
Heat wise you're fine. I've had the lights on while sitting for hours with no problem. Running for ~1.5 hours, the lights still get more than enough spray to cool them. The flappers on the exhaust outlets blow water every which way under the swim platform in addition to the water surging and catching on the support brackets for the swim platform. I do not have many night shots of us surfing or wakeboarding, I'll try to find a few to post up, I think my friend took some.

The shots of the lights at an angle on the transom of the boat are my lights on my boat. Jeff, the designer also put some on the side of his boat just below the waterline. I have not investigated if we can get to this area to pull wires from in our boats, but I believe you can get over there under the batteries, in my 22v I should say.

The problem with lighting up in the water is once under way and the lights go in and out of the water, the light gets diffused alot out of the water and then you are really only getting the light reflecting on the water. Still looks awesome, but doesn't go as far with a big bubbly wake behind the boat. I do have some surf shots that show how surprisingly well the wake gets lit up, but I'll leave the judgement of if it will suit you to you.

Feel free to repost a question if it has not been answered, I tried

OK so as i'm no longer a Tigé Owner, (just an ex-TO and happy to hang around in good company) so i'll do it so a genuine TO doesn't get banned ...

Jerk, Why don't you just go rub yourself off somewhere dickwad? It's obvious that your not even a boat owner as no self respecting mariner would act like such a freaking illiterate wannabe putz as you do

If you think talking total crap about your virtual cobalt makes you cool then you'd better take up another hobby putzboy!

I have serious doubts that even if your total crap spittin' story was true that you could even afford the Wetsounds boat ... That is if he'd even sell it to such a moron.

Btw there Gilligan, virtual fighting is so passe and over with now days so get a life dumbazz! Man i feel sorry if you really do have kids ...

Oh yeah, don't bother responding dufus, better than you have tried here and failed.

OK Matt, i overstepped it so i'm ready for the wand! VIVA LA TO!

                        Jake,

Ok guys I think we have beat the dead horse way too many times, enough with the name calling.

Jake, since you are new to this forum, let me give you a quick break down of the history of the forum and its members.

A hand full of members have organized various group buys, anything ranging from towels, impellers to props. The intention of this is to help out other Tigeowners as well as give the buyer a small discount. It's safe to say that the person arranging the group buy doesn't gain much when you consider the time and cost it takes to get these things going. The members who have done this are legitimate, I have even participated in group buys. So no one is "running off" with your money and no one is getting ripped off.

This forum is built around the camaraderie of Tige owners who share the same passion. Everyone on this board is here to help each other out in any way the can, whether it be suggestions of a boat name, group buy or info on Tiges. So lets try to keep it this way.

                        Matt

I've never bought anything from group buys and I don't know anyone personally on this site, but I will say that this site has the most friendly and helpful members of any site I have seen. I would have no problem trusting any of you guys/gals.

                              Jake/Greg,
I am doing my best to stay away from the urination contest both here and other threads with you, didn’t really have a horse in the race. But a good friend of the designer and a fellow mechanical engineer I feel obligated to "try" to educate you. ASTM is not a testing agency, they are a standards creation agency and simply try to standardize product testing, and they don’t actually perform any testing. (see that word “standards” is their name and everything). I think what you really need to say is: “how us the MIL-STD 810 testing on this product testing looser.” Just trying to help out.

BTW: Between everybody involved in the light there is about 30 yrs of Military electronics design experience so there is a bit of knowledge on what it takes to pass MIL tests but they are not cheap to perform. But tell you what, if you are willing to pay for the MIL testing, I will make a bet with you it passes. I will even let you pick the bet.

                              or MIL-STD ing
