I noticed Lake Mead is already going down after about a 12 foot jump. The years of going up 12 and losing 24 can't continue forever.
I know there is a lot of politics played with lake Powell water. Since they are at the top they seem to be in a position to control what goes down the river.
On the bright side this is the best Powell has looked for 7 years.

And there were horses feeding down in here yesterday...

The snowpack above lake powell is listed as 138% of average. It will mean a lot more if it says that on April 15th (the day the snowpack reaches its max).

I can't believe that it has been 5 years since this thread has been updated...It was supposed to be annual when it started.

Today snowpack is at 104% of normal. Lake Powell has gone down about 5 feet in the last month, looks like they are drawing it down. Mead is up about 4 feet. I am not sure where the website is that tells what the NPS is thinking, I sure hope that they will keep enough water in Powell to keep the cut open.

For those of us that dont have those kind of stats in our part of the country, is that 4% above normal or 104% above normal?

That would be 4% above normal.

Colorado is getting dumped on this season but the winter is early. If it keeps the current pace, that should be some great news for Lake Powell.
