Looks like the big storm from last weekend only raised the snowpack above lake Powell for 2010 to 84% of normal. Hopefully we can get more. The Colorado river drainage is not out of the woods yet.

Well they better get started on cutting the by pass event deeper then. I guess eventually the by pass will be as deep as the DAM.

Really I would love to see that lake get to full capacity and same with Mead.

We are having a pretty dry winter here in Colorado, just wait until March/April though - don't count it out yet.

Its all down here in AZ. Last week we got 5 - 8 inches of rain. My home lake went up 30 feet last week and the one above it went from 0% to 80% capacity. Northern AZ got 50 to 90 inches of snow in three days!

Holy Cow! I heard that Wolf Creek down in SW Colorado got 50" in 3 days as well. That doesn't help Powell though, I don't think anyway.

How about 7' of snow in 7 days at the Snowbird. Skiing was of the hook.

                          Certainly does not look good.

Despite all the snow we have gotten around here, the upper Colorado River drainage has been left high and dry. Still at 83% of normal for the Colorado River drainage overall. It is interesting to break it down by drainage and some of the southern drainages like the Escalante river are like 200% of normal.

I noticed Lake Mead is already going down after about a 12 foot jump. The years of going up 12 and losing 24 can't continue forever.

How about an annual "lets all go to the Keys" for us east coasters.

I would say that lake Mead is going to be dry by 2016 if that basin does not start to get water. That will kill the boat industry in that area. At least that is what all the experts are saying. I have to think they have some sort of knowledge to this.
