Some serious Fall Tigeowners reunion at Lake Mead Talk
That was exactly my plan, but of course, the water will determine the location. I'm sure getting out there Friday morning will allow us to take pick of the beaches, but no telling till next weekend what the water levels have done.
I loved the shore at that cove where the floating toilet is just south of the previous cove. The only reason we did not go there before is that the water was very shallow, and was about 2 feet deep at least 25 feet from shore. With the water going down, then that should be a big flat spot of nice sand, and hopefully the water level is right where it starts to drop a little faster.
I think that's a given TeamAllen. Should we just let Larry clarify the rules and make it easy?
What do you think of no judges this year, but just a 'stereo show off'. You get 2 minutes to show your stuff and entertain the audience.
I hope that Bad 05 has those tower speakers working right this year. Did he have to boost his battery bank, or just retune to stop it from clipping? If it is still an issue, I would corner CHP and get some help there.
Stereo seems to be working, of course tuning it on the lake with someone that know more about freqs and gain will be better than me blowing the neighbors away in Dans driveway just turning knobs! I have problems with different tracks on my ipod being different quality and some are loud and some quiet....so it's hard to go from song to song and have good steady quality. Baiscally, I 'm challanged in this area and need some help and a few good tracks or one good mix to play to really see what the setup is capible of. How about we all play the same song or two, or mix, off of the same ipod or CD?

What you should do is put a mix of rap, pop, country, rock, etc, on a CD and use it to tune while on the water. MP3 quality differs so much between downloaded and copied from source.

I have noticed that for sure. My daughter's Ipod is the worst. Some of the songs are over-equalized and others are too quiet, too much bass and on and on.
I can see where someone like Grant West ('G' from wakeworld, the stereo guru) prefers a long mix from a single DJ. Depending on your tastes, I found I like a few of the songs from www.DJBRIANBASS.com. (Boogie nights houseboat trip and funk box 1 are pretty fun to listen to). But they are on the side of more hip-hop with a lot of bass. They are free to download, are good quality and maintain a steady volume.
I clicked the sound check on my Ipod and it helps some, but is still not a good solution to crappy downloaded recordings. The ones that came from my CD's are always good.
I am like you, Bad05, I have not done much tuning other than in my garage with echos all around, so I am sure I can do better. I need some more time on the lake just goofing around with things.
With work schedules and the 1.5 hour drive, we aren't going to be able to make it up there this weekend. I plan on having a map of the area numbered, Dan having the same copy, and will decide on the location when we get there early Fri morning. I will call back to Dan and have him post the location on TO Fri mid morning. We will have the shade tent and sleeping tents set up that morning first thing to get them out of the boat so the cove should be apparent if everyone drives North and looks East into the coves. Not the best way to do it, but without having eyes on before the event, this is the best I think we can do. I know there will be about 5 of us there Fri and should be able to make the cove well known for those showing up Fri evening or Sat morning. I'll be practicing my crashing on the new Sky Ski, so just look for us, we will be close to camp.
That looks good. I will probably be there about 10 am. So anything I can do to help, let me know. I can at least set up another tent and some chairs to make it look more obvious where we are at.
