Seems like these type of boats (including the Z1) are marketed towards the "Riders Edition" crowd who might not want to shell out the $$ for a top-of-the-line ride, but do have certain critical needs. Moomba (Supra) was the first line out there with it.

Hopefully, the price of boats will get back down there...

I agree, a no-frills boat should not be labeled a cheap POS.

A nicely equipped Z1 could be had for that, but people missed it because dealers wanted to debut a loaded Z1 at last year's Spring show and they were $50K + trailer.

I personally think they made there mistake with the tower. That tower is just flat out ugly and I do not see how over time that thing will hold up and be a sturdy tower.

Careful, you may get it on a Tige in 4 years. It will be called the Alpha X.

But I agree the tower is super ugly. What is with 09s and ugly towers?

I was wrong. It is Randall. I still think Henshaw is a canidate, but Harris has one of the strongest followings in the wakeboard scene and is defenately a better frontman to have.

Good move IMO to make a lateral move to Axis rather then sign new, and possibly lesser known, riders.

I think that is huge of Axis to do that. Shows you the commitment that they are willing to do to make this venture successful.

I saw the axis at the ft. worth boat show yesterday. I tried to get pictures for ya, but they were in the middle of gluing the the windshield on and I didn't have time to wait. All I will say is that I look forward to hearing your opinions after seeing it in person...

I think the glue of yesteryear is far different than the glue of today. So I think that gluing the windshield on does not necessarily scare me, either, providing that it is done with high quality glue. The glue would probably be stronger than the fiberglass it is bonded to.

This is a guy getting ready to drop the stringers into a Mastercraft...yes glued in.
