I swear on my child's life, if I saw that snake in my lake I would walk (run) on water, there would be a trail of flames on the lake behind me I'd be moving so fast. Strap a flux capacitor on my arse then show me a snake, I'll be hanging with Michael J Fox lickity split.

    No snakes for me!!
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

        Tanner,

        Great question!

Our house is framed in and has drywall/sheetrock like a normal house. It is located in a no wake zone, within a marina. So, we really don't see a lot of wake except from those who can't read or respect.

The house + deck is 32' x 68' and is built on large floats. It is similar to a marina structure. It is chained to 1-1/2" cables, holding it in place but has the ability to move. The most motion that occurs is that they will shift from side to side and we may notice a ceiling fan swinging. Otherwise, there is not enough movement that we can even feel.

We have rented some others in the past that are on the main channel of the lake and exposed to quite a bit of wake. Believe it or not, they hold up better than you would expect, at least over a 3-5 year time-span that we rented. However, we did not want to expose ours to that so we have ours in a marina with a location on the lake that is roughly equivalent to a cul-de-sac.

If you are ever going to be in the neighborhood, give me a shout and let me know. We will gladly have you over for some food and beverage of choice!

              ImaPigDog,

Thank you for the kind offer. Doubt I'll ever be out that way... but you never know where life will take ya!

I started thinking maybe they were on a barge or something.

I was gonna ask how you got septic to those... but I noticed you said holding tanks for your sewage. Do you basically just have a service that comes out and pumps your tanks every XX amount of days..... like a house boat docked at a marina... or what?

You said you had city water... are there just lines coming up from the bottom of the lake that originate over by the marina that they tied on to you or what? Just curious how that works.

I really like the idea! Plus, they'd have hell taxing you since your on the water and not land... but yet.... you could write it off as a second home! HAHA

The marina has a boat/float with a large tank & pump and they pump out the holding tanks. As far as the water, you are correct...large industrial strength Goodyear hose that originates at the marina and is attached to the house. Same goes for the electric...our meter is on a pole on land and the wire lays on the bottom and comes up under the back of the house.

As far as taxes go, there is no deed, so no real estate property tax. Since there is no motor and is stationary, so it doesn't require boat registration. This is about the only thing in my life that is not getting over-taxed!!!

That looks like it is ready for someone to wake board on.

Not 100% sure, but I think it looks more like it's ready for someone to Slalom on.
