So, how does a floating house work? Do you have electricity and flush toilets?

Yes, we have electric and marina (city) water hookups. We also have a shallow well pump with a sediment filter to pull lake water but I haven't installed the other necessary filtration components (charcoal filter & UV light) to make it suitable for consumption.

We have 2 full baths with regular flush toilets that go to holding tanks. The only inconvenience is getting people to only flush things that comes from their body (no T.P., etc. into the tanks) and only flushing solids. So, the motto is:

        If it's yellow,
        let it mellow,
        if it's brown,
        flush it down!

We rented them for several years before deciding to build our own. Click here to see photos of the interior. The floating houses are so nice because you just walk right on the boat, turn the key, and go!

I have to get one of those!!!

Not too sure about the BBQ in the living room. Even though you are on water that might be a bit of a fire hazard.

                  Thanks!

Larry - you want one what? floating house or 2009 22Vé?

Zad - sorry, the BBQ just happened to be stored inside as I was getting ready to leave...don't want the wind (or anyone else) to wisk it away.

Last year was our first season with it and we got a lot of use out of it. Our kids ( 3 & 4) can't wait until it gets warm again...they ask us every week. I was anxious last season to get in the house, but am even more anxious this season to get the new boat!

Compared to a boat, the house was a lot of work to get setup! I spent at least two weekends just assembling IKEA furniture, gas grill, etc. I'm looking forward to getting to enjoy the house a lot more this season and get to play with the new Tigé.

If you are ever going to be in the Midwest, look us up. Norris Lake is in Northeastern TN, just south of KY border, not far off I-75. I think that Andy Nesbitt (ajnesbitt) from Western Ohio Watersports is setting up a Tigé reunion at Norris Lake this summer. We hope to see you then!

All tigeowner.com members are welcome to stop by except perhaps one that starts with a J, ends with an E, has an AK in the middle, well, you get the picture...

Lee - exactly! We roll it outside on the front porch when we get there and back inside (with a mat underneath) when we leave.

After seeing some of ya'lls pictures, I am absolutely ASHAMED to be putting my tige in our lake. I can't believe some of these pictures. You can tell from this one, here in Tx, it is flat and either lots of trees or no trees at all.

Every lake is cool. A day at the lake is always better than a day anywhere else.

What about Lake Mead with 50 MPH winds sweeping across it and rollers 4 feet high?
