More Snow Day, and New Camera

I heard about this new mini HD camera, that is supposed to do real well. It does 1080p30 recording to a SD card. It is only $179 at walmart, and was looking for a camera I could give to one of my kids on the back of my motorcycle, and when we go places that I am afraid to damage my $1k SR12.

Also, this thing records in full 720p60. Which is 60 fps non-interlaced, which I thought could be REALLY good for sport photography, like wakesurfing.

So we had our snow day today, and Thomas asked me if they could go sledding in the back yard. I said sure, and told him to take the camera and shoot some video. Exactly what I bought the camera for. I still don't want to lose a $179 camera, but much better than $1k.

So he brings the camera back after about an hour, and I was busting up at some of the footage. This is exactly what I wanted, just the kids messing off. So I made a little video. Here is the quicktime version below. As always, click HERE for the HD version and click LARGE.

I do wish it had motion stability lens like the SR12, but hey. I just tell the kids to never use zoom, and that helps alot.

Wow, I just bought it a little over a week ago, now its $40 cheaper. I am using the ACTION-HD, not the A-HD.

The funniest thing about that video is that I had nothing to do with it, which just cracks me up. I was up in my office working, T asked me if they could go sledding outside with Whitney watching them. I said ok, and handed him the camera and showed him how to point and shoot. They did the whole play dead thing, and the zombies, and all that stuff. Too funny.

Mine were cracking up last night watching it with me. Now they want to have a snowball fight. Well, we did get some snow two years ago

Not much. We got about four inches at our house two years ago (and it actually hung around for a couple of days!), but none since then. They forecasted snow for Sunday night/Monday morning, but all we got was cold rain. Now they are saying we "may" get a little tonight. My kids are hoping it happens.

They forecasted snow for Sunday night/Monday morning, but all we got was cold rain. Now they are saying we "may" get a little tonight. My kids are hoping it happens.

I got back from Hawaii Monday and drove through Mountain and Cajon pass with snow on the side and stopped at my dad's house in Summerlin Tuesday and snow was melting from the roof at lunch time. Now today it is snowing in the middle of town right now and you can't even see the mountains.
