How do you like them? What was the feeling between the open toe of your last bindings (I am assuming you had open toe bindings) to the closed toe? Did you like the answers?
G-Money (or anyone else) - Why doesn't your board have a center fin? I tried taking mine out once but couldn't control the board, is this a learning thing or am I doing something wrong. Am I suppose to have the center fin in my board?

It depends upon how you feel. Late last year, I started to ride my CWB Sol again without a center fin and found it very fun but the tracting in the water wasn't great but definitely learned how to edge correctly. So, the center fin is used to help people with their edging.
The board that G-Money and I have do not have holes to support a center fin.

The Transcend in 09 has a built in Rocker that takes the place of the center fin. It is very defined. In addition to that the four fins on each end will come off to give you the ability to spin the board. G says it has a ton of bit in the water. He tried to spin the board 180 and could not get it done with the fins on. As I watched him the board just looked like it had tons of bit in the water. With its design the board is not real edgy but it has a great responding edge when you get on it. CWB hit a home run with this board this year. It is Andrew Adkinson board for a good reason.

Like Da said my board does not come with or have the abillity to have a center fin. But Its does have larger molded fins on the edge of the board that make up for the lack of the center fin. To be honest my new CWB board felt more stable and does not have as loose of a feeling as my hyperlight state does with the center fins. On the new 09 transcend I can't take off a part of the molded fin. I like that loose feeling it's more forgiving when you land off balance.

Thanks guys. I know I am not that good at this yet but trying to head in the right direction. Do I want to take my center fins out?
That depends upon how well you feel when using your progressive edge and if the board that you are using has fins other than the center fin. You will need some type of fin unless you like to slide around like a wakeskate.

As good as you are I assume this is TRD Junior talking. Then yes I think you will benefit from it. Actually you need to get this board or the Absolute Platinum. I have this strange feeling you are on you way to being a pro since you are expert at your age and in the short time you have been boarding. I would say you need to get a very responsive board and for sure get close toe bindings. I should of had you ride one when you were here.
Notice that all the pros run with close toes. The other thing you need to make sure of is to get bindings that will lock you in and also provide you good cushion when landing. The CWB Answers or in your case you should have the ZEUS bindings are a great binding to get.

I really like the Answer's they have a ton of padding for nice soft landing's.
As for the open toe Vs the closed toe I didn't notice much difference but my feet did not freeze in the cold water.

The nice thing about this new board that G has it the fins are built in for the most part and the tips of the fins are removable.
