transom remote

A few months ago the transom remote cover fell off and was swallowed by our lake.I called the dealer and he told me it was not avaliable anymore so if anyone has this older style remote or even the whole stereo lying around there garage I would love to buy it from you. Any other help or options would be appreciated.

The boat is a 02 23v with the round clarion.

What stereo do you have? If it is the clarion you might just think about a new remote, there is smaller one that is the same size hole that is already drilled there. I have had to replace one of my oval remotes and used the smaller round clarion remote that does not have the lcd readout on it.

might be hard unless he took shots of his transom before remote went swimming.

I guess picture and P/N of the front remote also might help along with the Clarion H/U P/N.

he should have a remote in the front beside the drivers steering wheel that is the same remote if it was stock from Tige. Take a pic of that.

I don't think the whole remote went swimming, just the cover. The cover would be the part the dealer would not be able to get anyways. It is probably the oval remote anyways, that's all the clarions used before they went to the round style. E-bay will have them.

Thanks for the help guys.The remote is round and solid black.The dealer told me the remote was not avaliable because that radio was discontinued a while back.I will take a picture so everyone knows what I am talking about.

Which headunit do you have and what does the plug look like, I bet if the plug is the same you could use one of the new ones without the lcd readout just fine. I just looked on ebay and there is one of the ones like you have for 49.95, it is the M102RC-B. I just looked at the other pictures the seller has on ebay and it does look like the same plug as on the newer remotes.

Glad I could help. Like Domsz06 said, there were tons online just last year, but they must have finally sold off the stock. If that one disappears or somthing I bet you could use a new one, maybe buy it from crutchfield or someone local so that you can return it if it does not work.

mtnsmith took the words out of my mouth. If the plug in works, clarion says any remote will work, just typically u can't see the visiual display.

Hope it all works out for you. U know what I have a remote that has a visiual display that u can have for cheap if you want, the only issues is u can't see anything on the LCD. Just an idea.
