    Beautiful Desert Vacation

Evening folks. Looks like uncle same is sending me on a nice 6 month vacation. Should be back in August so I can enjoy some of the boating season. Somehow I need to find the time to prep the baby for some long term storage. I'm thinking Matt might get a little business as I've got a lot to do in the next month and a half. I look forward to some good stories posted on here to help me live vicariously through you all.

Also for those that live in So Cal I've got a couple questions. Looks like I'm going to wind up moving to LA when I get back. What's the boating scene like down there? How far to travel to get on the water, no not the ocean smart a$$es ? I'll probably be looking to live in one of the __ Beach(es). Just looking for thoughts now.
    Honey I'm home!

Be safe...I grew up in LA and the good lakes are a bit further. We've been to Castaic, Perris, Pyramid, Piru, Elsinore, & Silverwood. But we would rarely get a good day of skiing in. As LA is pretty crowded and its hard to find smooth water.

We always looked forward to 3-4 day trips where we ventured to Lake Nacimiento or Lk. San Antonio (Paso Robles, CA), the Colorado River and their chain of lakes (mainly Mead), the Delta (Stockton, CA), or for house boat trips we went to Lake Shasta.

Have to agree. Be safe and stay focused so you come back. Of course you will be moving back to a area in the US that might not be any better than where your going for six months. J/K of course. Be safe and make it back for the reunion. And THANK YOU for your service and time given for all that live in the country.

                Dito.....

We have some local lakes but they are crap. You are going to gave to drive 5+ hr to get to a nice lake.

Good luck out there Kyl. Keep your head down and your chin up.

As for LA, I don't live there, but I go down a few times every year. I like San Clemente although it's a good deal south of LA proper.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.
