Replacing drivers seat with the flip bolster type?

Anybody have any experience or comments about these optional seats? Are they worth it and do you use it much in the flipped up position?
My wife is pretty short and maybe it would help her see better when towing at low speeds.
I was wonering if anybody knows where one could find a good deals on one of these? I am sure that if I contacted my dealer they could get one, but I am sure that would cost a small fortune. Does Tige build their own seats or is it a supplier that we could buy direct from?

I looked into that same option once but was discouraged when I saw the price, about $500.00. I also saw another brand in Overtons for the same price. They are an nice option though, a friend I ride with has one in his 22V. I personally couldnt justify the price.

I have that seat in my 22V, and it is a pretty neat option. My wife is 5'4" and needs this to see out front when towing me on the wakeboard. It is really set up to be handy and easy to use.

I don't use it too often, unless we are towing my daughter on the board at a slow speed with the bow high in the air. When we are driving like that it is great to be able to see ahead.

On our previous boat our solution was to use the Coast guard mandated throwable cushions as seat boosters, and they worked nearly as well, and cost a whole lot less.

Another option to consider is a telescoping pedestal type mount. I have seen these on boats like the tournament fishing type boats. It is easily adjusted up and down and you are sitting in the complete seat and not just a small portion. There are different height pedestals and may be adoptable to the current seat rather than replacing the entire seat. Just a thought.

Thats what my wife uses when she occassionaly tows me.

Thats also a good idea Bill, never thought of that.

My wife is 5'6" and LOVES the flip up seat on my 22V. If your wife will be pulling you, get the flip up bolster as it will make for much happier sessions! : )

I am 6' and I use it when docking or loading onto the trailer.

My wife 5'7" always uses the flip up bolster when she drives our 22V whether she is towing or going. My kids love it because they can see over the dash when they steer. It is a spendy, but definitely worth it.

After all, it comes down to the family experience while boating that makes the $$ justification for me.

Bolstered seat

Just a quick update, A couple of months of watching e-bay finally pays off. I just won this seat for $200 plus shipping, it was even the right colors! Now that I have mine feel free to watch for one yourself.

That is the best invention in seats i have ever seen. I love it and i'm 6' tall. My wife uses it also. in fact everyone that drive the boat uses it at boarding or skiing time. puts you up above the window and you have a much better view. We love it, well worth the money.
