I think that perf. poly guard is like the SharkSkin (6.5 oz), but a bit thicker (8 oz). From the research I've been doing I would still recommend putting a vent or two in the Polyester covers.

If it were me....I'd get Sunbrella. It will allow your boat to dry in the summer. Tige's seem to have a lot of mildew issues (that I've seen).

Then in the winter months just have your boat shink wraped. Cost is $10 to $12 a foot. Or buy a 8 year supply of shrink wrap from Buffalo NY. www.buffaloshrinkwrap.com and do-it-ur-self. Be sure to buy the good "marine" tape, and don't do this task without watching the do-it-ur-self video. If you want to know the price, I'll be happy to look in my file cabinet and get back to you. You will need a 16' wide roll. They typically come in 200 feet. Thus.....You can do your boat at least 8 times.
Your probably looking at a $300 dollar investment.

Mildew is just the most horrible thing in the world (next to Obama), I just can't live with it. One thing fur sure, no mildew with Sunbrella!

When I get my new Tige....I'm going to immediately order a Sunbrella cover, AND THEN...I'm going straight to my sew lady to have side skirts (including swim deck) made.

In the south, keeping the sun off the Gelcoat is a big issue.

The side skirts I have now are an Arcylic material called Sea Sprae. We installed snaps every 2 feet on the side covers and the boat.

All I can say is "Sunbrella" and HOLD YOUR BREATH FOR 4 YEAR....NOV 7TH, 2012 will be here sooner than you think.
