Do you keep your boat insurance active during the winter?

I keep ours outside next to our trailer. We have a yearly policy. It does sit partially under a tree.

I keep my boat on a lift at my dock and definitely keep insurance on it.

Our marina keeps our boats for us, we only have insurance on them during the summer time. Same with the cars, insurance wise haha.

I keep boating insurance because I will use it every now and again during the winter. If I did not use it during the winter, I would have my agent drop everything except for theft.

Boat stays in the dock all winter, except for the trip to the Ski Dock for annual maintenance. And I do keep the insurance on it year round as I don't see it every day !

wow, I am surprised on the outcome of the poll, and also surprised that almost everyone keeps their boats in their garages. Mine just happend to expire at the end of the season, so I thought I'd ask.

I will probably renew it.....

There is no way I would let such and investment sit un-insured. I know for a fact that Home Owners would not cover it in the event of fire or flood because it is capable of being insured on its own with its own policy.
