I only pull my teak platform off for the winter as I have plenty of room behind it in the new garage. However, in the old garage I would have killed to have one that flipped up.

03 22V.
It comes off everytime to fit in the garage. I would not have bought the boat if the platform would not come off.
Have you ever taken it on and off by yourself?? A half-*ss pulley system helps, but a flip down or up is the ticket!
Teak looks good and minimal mtc. Big is great for assisting newbies and hanging out.

07 20V Fiberglass. I take mine off every time I return from a trip so boat will fit in garage. The current system works fine for a fiberglass platform and can be done with one person. With the wood platforms it is a 2 person affair.
At some point it would be great to have a hinged platform that could easily be dropped to the lower position and raised to a locked position for trailering and use on the water. It is by far not a make or break feature just a nice to have.
