    SWIM PLATFORM QUESTION

We are looking to learn more about how our consumers use their swim platforms. That being said:

Do you Remove your swim platforms from your boat?

    If so, for what reasons?

    What boat do you have?

Any suggestions on thoughts about swim platform detaching?

    Thanks for the info!

I have a 21i with a teak platform. I have to remove it every time I put it in the garage after every use. Maybe make a platform that you still remove the 3 pins but have it hinged so it can be tilted up all the way without having to lift it off and store under the trailer like i do.... Might actually be a good idea especially since no other boat company to my knowledge has it. hmmmm.

It is a loung area when hanging out on the lake.
Definately keep it removable for storage ie garage purpose and it is easy to take off for upkeep on the teak.
Have always been a fan of teak, but everyone is going fiber nowadays.

We keep in on all the time and only remove it when the time is right. Definitely keep it removable since there are some states that you are allowed to tow to other items behind your truck. But the length is important because they are not allowed to go over that length.

I think that was discussed on tigeowners...

However, making the platform removable while it doesn't rattle around would be very nice. Maybe some rubber bumpers somewhere might be a great idea.

I have an RZ2 with the first gen platform. We never take it off but like the option of being able to. I wish I had the newer "surfing friendly" version but I have learned to work around what I have for now.

The large platform is nice for when people are lounging at the back of the boat or giving lessons to someone.

I feel that the quick disconnect system on my platform is perfect, no need to redesign.

There is no shame in taking a good idea and improving on it.

I never remove my platform, but before I had the big garage, I had a little garage and I had to remove it every time. I would hesitate to buy a boat without a removable swim platform, if that helps.

06 22Ve w/fiber glass swim platform. Outside of the usual, it's a great place to just hang out and sit on.

I find the Tige platforms to be extremely easy to remove/install. I absolutely love the huge size compared to other brands which make you feel as if you are balancing on a 2x4.

I do see where the extra large size of the platform would cut into the surf wake, especially the RZ's. If a change where to be made (yes, I know the 09's have a narrower platform, but I think the jury is still out on it's success), I would like to see the current platform as STD and a smaller/narrower on as an option.

I see...would this be your imaginary platform on your imaginary boat?

07 RZ2. I remove it once a year to do a detailed cleaning around the back and it is very easy, great design on the removal/install functionality. No so good design for surfing, but Tige already fixed for 09, unfortunately I still have the 07 version.
