Picked up the nickname Turbo back in high school when I was running track. Was all-state by my sophomore year, but never won a state title. I was lucky enough to lose to a future Pac-10 champion all four years.

9 is my lucky number. 20+ years of soccer most of them being numbered 9, 18(1+8)

It was also around this time that Al Gore invented the internet and I needed to create a username for my Juno email account. Turbo was taken, turbo1,2,...9 were all taken so I spelled it out to Turbonine.

PS. I am back from Powell. It was awesome. I will get a write up soon.

AustinSouthSide - I live on the south side of Austin, TX. Those of us living in South Austin do so with a fair amount of pride in the fact that we are a bit wierd. A common bumper sticker says it best - "South Austin - we are all here because we are not all there". May be a bit of a stretch for me but I like to pretend I am cool and wierd like the rest of the south siders.

NICKYPOO is a high school nickname that just stuck. Although phonetically, it is pronounced Nicky-POO. I still run around with the same guys since grade school, so we all pretty much have nicknames.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Well, I am tall at 6'9", and I have owned two Tige's now, and I have a wancker, so that makes me a guy. Not very creative, but it sort of stuck on me. I hope to be on my 3rd Tige soon, if I get another brand, I don't want to have to change my screen name, email or boat license plate, so I hope it works out.

G-money, I am still laughing at your explanation.

Turbo...'when Al Gore invented the internet' LOL

noworries lies on the continuum between "Filthy Rich," and "Don't Worry, Be Happy." On any given day I just daydream of being more toward one or the other as the mood strikes.

One of my favorite songs is by David Allen Coe "Cheap Thrills" and was the name of our first boat. I shortened it for a license plate but never got around to getting one. First boat was a fixer-upper and was by no means cheap, as with any boat, but sure was/is fun.

Great thread. I've often wondered the same thing...especially when I joined last year and there was a guy with a feminine name.

My last name is Trogdon - not very common, but is in my small home town. Stopped by a local ISP in the early 90's to sign up for dial-up and they asked for a screen name on the spot for my email address. I tried etrogdon and it was taken, so I tried "the trogdons", but also taken so I said just use thtrog.

We don't need an encyclopedia listing all those names.

I changed my name from David because there are too many of "them"
