You should be able to get it out this coming weekend. Forecast is for 80 degree's on Saturday and Sunday in Sacramento. Probably a little colder up where you guys are but we want pictures

Very nice. Is there any play in the brackets? My only Concern would be any play in the brackets with that much weight it might pull on the fiberglass on the boat and start pulling the bolts through the hull or cause some cracking. Other than that I would say you need to put those things into production and start selling them.

It seems very solid, but will def keep an eye on it in the water. I don't see it as a viable business. I would have to charge WAY too much to make any money, then ship these things. I would have to research and make blanks for many models, not just one. Don't see it happenning. Was a fun project though.

Just sell your design to Tige. One would think that Tige would have an original design that was flawless, but unfortunately that's not the case.

If they were smart, they would just look at the design from Sanger.

If you look at the Sanger wakesurf step, it is something that could be more mass produced. It is smooth on bottom, which I think would hurt the the strength and rigidity from losing the outer lip, but then they wrapped the edge with a stainless steel rubrail.

Here was a picture I took, they made it too small, which Is why I altered my design, but it is a good idea in the right direction.

OK, so just before I hit the prop, I started doing some testing on the new step. It works great. I put 1000 all in the back corner, no where else, so it was a heavy list, but not that much total weight. I wanted to dig the step in, and see effect on wake. WAKE IS CLEAN. Here is a short video of test, before I hit.

Very nice thread about your swim step. I am considering doing this on my 21i.

Our family is primarily a surf and ski family.
I am wondering about how the weight of the swim step (is it around 150 lbs?) would affect the wake while skiing.

What is your opinion? Has anyone else modified their swim step?

Its about 125. I can't tell you about skiing. I tow skiers once in a while, since the deck isn't in the water, I don't think it has any effect, but couldn't be sure. I would guess no effect.

Ragboy, do you still run the aluminum platform on your 24Ve?

Any thoughts/plans on extending this approach to the new Wake9 RZ4?

Yes, we run the alum platform on the Ve. We didn't feel the need to do this with the RZ2, the platform didn't cut into the wake. I will let you know.
