Anyone ever felt the top of the swim platform on the 08 & 09 Malibus? Those are very nice. My 3 yr old daughter would certainly appreciate that. The e's that are on the Tige platforms are harsh.

          There you go again Zad...

I do agree though, the foam rubber on the bu's is nice under foot.

Matt, the Malibu's pads are done up by Seadek as well hence the reason i went with them in the first place.

They also do the flooring at the helm of a lot of big fishing boats and I have looked into doing the floor in my boat if/when the carpet needs replacing.

OK, so I got the raw metal, it has been cut out, but that is it. Just an ugly piece of 3/4" aluminum plate. Weighs about 135 lbs.

We will be smoothing out the edges, and then drilling/tapping mount holes, and applying gator grip this weekend. Getting excited to get this bad boy out there.

Are you going to bolt the platform to the transom mounts?
Or have you found some insane self tapping screws for the aluminum?

So i'm curious what the factory platform weighs compared to your aluminum creation?

The old platform, was actually tapped, so we will either do the same, and tap into the alumiminum, or actually use through bolts, counter sunk on top.

I haven't weighed the old, I would guess the old was about 40-50 lbs though.

Just a suggestion but i work at a machine shop and highly suggest to counter sink and through bolt through the aluminum because aluminum does not hold threads very well it doesnt take much to pull the threads out. It only takes one wave to put pressure on the platform. if you are going to tap it use a helio coil thread insert.
i would through bolt with stainless steel bolts and then use high strength locktite on the bolts, so then you never have to worry about it getting riped off from the huge waves you produce.

Or, you will have that thing on the bottom of Lake Oroville quickly

Go to Seadek and get a custom one, your design and colors scheme

Looks like SeaDek might be getting Tige soon

I contacted them about doing our platform and it was $89 for a 5mm sheet to do the whole thing. They do accept CAD drawings, so to do a CAD drawing and give it to them would be great. If one has access to CAD.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

                              That's a pretty good deal.

ragboy, do you know what the weight limit is for that? I thought I heard the Tige fatory platforms have a weight capacity of 700-800 pounds.

could get them to do a black mat with an orange Tige written in each section.

I wonder how the white holds up with SeaDek. Hum... White with Orange Tige lettering would look bomb!!!!

Graphite Gray with Orange would work perfect for you Matt
