Ragboy, I am thinking that the brace might be digging into that wake also causing a little "white wash" also. An idea would angle those bracket towards the TAPS plate slightly and allow the brackets to act like a fin while in the water. Does that make sense?

That is why we tested without the ENTIRE deck, even brackets off. The wake with the new deck, compared to no deck/brackets was identical as far as I could tell, and identical as far as RJ could tell riding it.

I was actually surprised that I had to do so little to resolve the issue. I think the MAIN culprit is the lip under the fiberglass deck, but I think the cut off corners also help.

Here is the original picture that you took without the platform. As you can see, the red lines are rather narrow compared to the next picture.



This picture depicts a little more "white wash" which the green area seems to have more of. The brackets IMO are creating the "white wash".

Me no see pics. What are you referring to as the "white wash"? Do you mean the spray at the top of the wake, right behind the boat?

I am referring about the water coming off the location where the swim platform tip would be.

I see in the picture, however, its on the RIGHT side of the line, and so its only effect would be whitewash in that area, but that is the area where there is already the prop wash, and so it has no ill effect.

The main issue I was working on is the turbulence/cut into the wake that was happening on the LEFT side of that line.

Do you know how your new platform dimensions compare with the 09 Tige platforms?

It is great to know you got such positive results without having to make such radical cutins as seen on that Sanger platform.

Your smooth bottom observations also suggest that those having an 09 Tige platform would see some advantage from some sort of insert to smooth or shape the underside fiberglass lip. An insert could probably be flush to the mounting bracket as well, addressing da's concern about interference from the bracket.

Its possible, but I am going for a completely automated system, and a fully functional swim deck. Also, the other side effect of the bigger wave is when you cut the throttle, you get this monster roll up on you.

And here it is coming in the boat, and it comes all the way in unless you slow down slowly.



Add to this that this wake is very powerful and it actually ripped the swimdeck off of its wood screw mounts and it floated away, it was pretty funny. So that is another reason I am going to go with a 3/4" thick piece of aluminum with threaded mounts.

Just becarefull with aluminum because it does not hold threads as good as reagular steel does. Make sure you go big enough with the bolts and put lock tight on it and you should be fine.

How much do you want to spend Ragboy? A tige owner here made one out of frosted 1.5" plexy and then illuminated it with color-changing LEDS He spent about $1200 on the sheet of plexy.
