I guess I'm ahead of the game a little, back in Aug, I pulled the interior out and pressure washed the carpet and gave the whole SUV a detail (cant tell it already ).

Is there anything that can be done to waterproof the trailer electical connection?
No the best thing you can do for that is to use some di-electric greese and keep them clean. Put the greese on after you clean up the connections.
