Thanks everyone...I ended up playing that marine docking game for an hour last night.

Yea, I think the white hair would get everywhere in the carpet, but that's what a shop vacuum is for...right?

Hatcher (our pup) is only 1 1/2 old (and 90ish lbs), so he is quite obnoxious at times. Might be interesting to get him on a boat during peak season. He has learned to be quite the photo ham.

What a great pic! Your dog takes great vacations! Looks like the Carribean.

That was taken in Big Sur (Ca) just before the fires.

Joe, are you heading out this weekend? Do you know where you are planning to go? We are hitting Discovery Park in Sacramento on Sunday AM it the weather and wind permit.

Actually that is exactly what I was thinking of doing (Discovery Bay right? I'm new to N.Cal)...weather permitting. I feel like I'm in a wind tunnel when I go outside. I was thinking of going with just the GF and myself for a shake down, not sure if I was going to ski or not (need a third person...well Hatch could be the spotter).

I still have to head to WestMarine to get all the safety equipment probably Sat. Thank god for credit cards.

            sent PM with contact Info.

Discovery Bay is in the Delta area and Discovery Park is in Sacramento.

              Got your PM, will do.

                  Maiden Voyage

Well, I took my girlfriend and puppy out to Discovery Park Sunday. There were 15 mph + winds, we almost didn't go, but decided what the hell. We just drove around for a nice shake down, it was quite enjoyable to be out on the water again.

Everything went quite well, my packing gland leaked a little, but nothing to be worried about, the motor ran good and very strong. Need to do some work on the music situation, the previous owner installed two amps and subs, but kinda did a monkey job on the install.

                  Here's a few pictures.

Nice boat. I found that a high speed buffer did wonders on the gell coat. I picked mine up for about $35 at Harbour Freight

I was thinking about a buffer too, but I've always liked to wax by hand. Yesterday I used some Meguiar's rubbing compound, polish, then carnauba wax, with a lot of rubbing. Did just the top half, and it all came out really really nice.

The sides are a bit worse, I think I may need a buffer. To get between the swim step and stern, do you all take the step off, or just squeeze between them?

Maybe you could train him to bark when the skier falls.

Contact SPBFAN. I got a Flitz compound/buffer combo that really does a nice job polishing your boat. Follow up with regular treatment of Babe's boat bright and you'll love the results.

Joe, i just sold my '95 2000 slm comp back in March. I started just as you did, and old oxidized boat in need of tlc. Here's posts to everything i did, maybe it'll help you out. It's a great boat and handles like a sports car. Had over 800 hours when sold and is still running strong! In fact i think she's over a 1000 now! Just watch the rollers as she sits real low in the water! Have fun with it!
