You say that but people around here leave their cars at the gas station
over night because they will not have enough to get back the next day.
Not me, but it could be a woman ,your wife with kids, going to work. What
    should they do? No gas-no car-no work-no $$$$-no food
It's not a big deal yet.... It wouldn't take much.. Not this time....
I say not this time.... just not to me... this time.

Nashville went through this last week. Starting when Ike cam ashore, people started a run on gas. for the next week, many gas stations had no gas or would sell out in hours after a tanker delivered. It is pretty much back to normal now, a few stations are still out. The culprit was supposedely the pipeline that brings fuel from the refineries in Texas to the TN area (including GA, NC, etc) was shut in for the hurrican and had sporadic delivery in the interim. It was short term deal.

It does make you realize how much you relay on driving and where you can cut it. Best part for me was we went to the lake and filled up there. They had plenty of fuel and their prices were about the same as what was being charged at the stations due to shortages.

I think they are doing this to Atlanta GA so it will end up on CNN. Everybody else has gas, including Houston/Beaumont. Go figure.

So do you want to hear my plan?.....
Let's get a 10,000 gal tanker... fill it full in Al
                  for $3.45 a gal
bring it here and sell it
                  for $4.55 gal
                  $10,000 X 3 trips a day
after 3 days buy another tanker cash
and so on...... soon we have our own pipe line.....

                  "They" want it this way

they want it to be bad...They have laws so we can't make it better..

Actually, I think what's happened here is that Texas figured out one way to get rid of the media is to create gas shortages in and around CNN. If they can't get here, we can actually get something done.

Saw gas yesterday in so. Calif. (orange co.) for 3.49 a gallon no lines at all. The price of diesel jumped to right around $4 per gallon from about 3.80.
