And as for spunk, I get a huge kick out of Zad0030's posts (and classic rock tastes). My fav is when a new poster comes on the board, Zad0030 reads him the the riot act (usually with spot on advice), the newbie retorts with "shut up kid", or something similar, and several of the regs on the board jump in setting the record straight as to his good depth of knowledge.
Thank you, thats one reason my age is no longer displayed.

Pahh. Stick to your guns and broadcast it. After all, it is not so much your absolute boating knowledge (which is far greater than mine but might not surpass other big guns of the board) that is most impressive; rather it is your identity as a boating "prodigy" that makes you stand out.

Maybe we should start talking about how coconuts might have ended up in Britain. There's a whole thread about swallows and airspeed.

I've been boatless for about 2 months now, but when we went to the lake, every trip, we would bring every toy we own. The knee board, the wake skate, all the wakeboards, and the tube. We would board all day until the water started to get choppy. Then we would get the tube out. It was a big 3 person tube. I just had a little coleman electric pump that we would fill the tube up with. Then when we were dead tired and could not hold on to the tube any longer, we would deflate it and put it back in storage. No reason to fill that thing up @ home and keep it inflated all day. Would just be in the way.

I can tell you for certain, but also rather un-scientifically, that the load on the tower from a 200lb wakeboarder cutting hard into the wake is significantly more than a tube.

I can feel the boat pull and hear the tower creak with any stress, and tubing is nowhere near pulling an adult rider who can cut.

And for all the snobs out there who say tubing is for little kids or people who can't ride, I say grow up. When the water stinks and you can find a place away from other boats, tubing is an absolute blast. Kids, teenagers, adults, no matter what, when you get on a tube for a good ride, you come away smiling and laughing...

And thats what it is all about....FUN!!

I know this is an old thread, but when i saw this product it made me think of this statement of using the tower, to keep the rope from dragging through the water/wake.

                  I have this one: http://www.sportsstuff.com/p/4k-booster-ball
Well worth the money, in my opinion... BUT, it's not 100% effective. It does eliminate the spray, but and it does keep the ropes out of the water, but I have still had a tube dive occasionally.

That's cool you have and use one. My wife said, you probably can't see the riders behind that thing?

image.jpg As you can see here, the tubers are still easy to see. I have video I can share later, if you would like.
