I doubt you can, but can you share your thoughts on why Tige went with PCM? Was Marine Power not ready for the emissions change?

I will have to defer to Tige to comment on the decision to go with PCM. I can speak to our ability to produce CAT engines. We not only met the CARB standards, Marine Power exceeded the standard above and beyond any other engine manufacturers. Our emissions were only 25% of the allowable standard. We also were able to keep 100% of our horsepower rating in meeting this standard. The low emission results not only insured todays standard criteria it also means that as the catalyst substructure degrades over time we would still meet the criteria years down the road. We have also not experienced any O2 sensor failures due to the patented isolation chamber in the exhaust chamber. This has been a problem with other manufacturers. Sorry, I am going a little "sales" on you with my response so I will leave it there. I will close this response to say that Marine Power is "mean and green" relative to CAT engines.

I have to agree that the web site under construction is a frustration. While all companies have their strengths and weaknesses, Marine Power is no different. Our strengths lie in customer service, performance and reliability among others. One of our weaknesses would have to be the web site. I made some contributing text a couple weeks ago that was supposed to be used in the web site. I haven't heard anything since. I will follow up and see if that still has life.

Welcome. We are more than happy with our MP with both performance and economy. (Yeah right economy in a boat)
Only issue is my 07 20V surges when Speedset is engaged. My dealer can't flash so I guess my computer is heading your way at end in a few weeks. I hope it fixes issue which is relatively minor but pesty in a great power plant.

This is why Tige Boats are the best, and this owner's forum is the best, and continues to get even better. We have Tige Boats principles such as Charlie and Ben posting here (and other towboat forums), Factory Reps such as Tony and Mark, great dealers such Matt, FIC, Lee, and others. We have a wealth of knowledge and support on all levels from Tige and their suppliers.

Hello and welcome aboard. I have a 2004 22V and really want to say that not only has the engine been great (and we use it alot!) but the MP customer service folks have always been helpful. Over the years I have had to call a couple of times (most recently with a question about installing a fuel flow meter) and the MP staff has been great.
Good luck in your new role!
