    09 Gel coat options (non-standard)

So the Tige web config tool provides the "standard" gel coat options available on the 09s.

But there is at least one, and probably two, additional options not reflected.

FIRST: full extension deck accent. See pics. It looks like wetsounds1 had the inaugral RZ4 with such feature followed by the Surf Expo demo RZ2 (pics of both above). This allows the front surface of the pickle, the seat of the transom, and the top deck surfaces to be a lighter color when you go for a dark bow to stern deck accent color.

SECOND: two-tone transom (above swim platform) with solid color sides (i.e., main and second panel same). See pic. Only pic of this feature I have seen is Spolk69's sick RZ4. This allows some transom coolness when going with the slick solid side look.

According to the Tige website config tool, the second color on the transom (above swim platform) is tied to the setting of the second panel. Select black hull, frost main panel, and frost second panel. Result = no black color above swim platform. Now add black second panel (ie, black hull, frost main panel, black second panel). Result = black pattern above swim platform, i.e., "two-tone transom". The only difference between these two configs is the second panel. Thus, according to the web config tool, the second color on the transom (above swim platform) is tied to the setting of the second panel. The Hull color impacts the color below the swim platform of course.

Bonus (non-gel) option: dual underwater transom lights. PDF spec sheet lists on "light" (singular).

Bonus (non-gel) option: zip on bimini extension. Looks to be 2 ft in pics. But there seems to be an option for an 8ft bimini. Is this another extension or a full bimini?

Bonus (non-gel) option: WS420 EQ and PA. Not listed in Tower of Power but seems to be available wired from factory.

Bonus (non-gel) option: docking lights mounted in front hull (as distinguished from docking lights on tower). PDF spec sheet lists twice but does not clarify the second listing is in hull.

Any clarification of above options (especially gel, and especially by Abilene) is much appreciated.

Anyone aware of other options (gel or otherwise) not reflected on the Tige website?

    Rephrasing question buried above ...

Is color in center of transom above the swim platform tied to (i) second panel color or (ii) hull color?

Tige "build it" option on web suggests second panel color.

Experiences and pics suggests hull color.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Have you asked your dealer to clarify with the factory regarding gelcoat options? The factory will probably do it however you like...for additional $.

Regarding the bimini...the 8-ft bimini is a 2-ft zip-on extension to the basic 6-ft length (at least on mine).

Duncan - I think I have your answer....

The second transom color is designed to match the insert (2nd main panel) color. That is the standard way it is designed to go. To my knowledge there have been no boats to date that would suggest any different. It is when you match your hull to the 2nd main color that it looks to extend from the hull color. (notice the 2nd main matches the transom every time.) As far as coloring it different, i am sure we could work that out for anyone who prefers to do a custom order.

In regards to the top deck accent options. This is a brand new option that is just being released. The surf expo boat was the first production model to show this option. I have done this design only two times before as custom orders (one being wetsounds) which has allowed us get a little testing out in the market. With the success of the option, we decided to make it standard and what better way then to intro it at surf expo. With this being a recent decision, we are working quickly to get the new accent as well as interior views up on our build site.

Hang in there, soon we will have you set build and order your new 09 RZ!

          sorry for any confusion!

How about you add a top view to the build a boat so people can see what's going on with their choices there too? Tige has stepped up their involvement on tigeowners greatly in the last month and we are all appreciative of that, keep up the good work.

Thanks a bunch for the update. The only boat I have seen that has a second transom color that does not match the second main panel insert is Spolk69's (which pics set me down this road in fact).

I think the full length deck accent is slick btw!

And I second the kudos on corp's high visibility on these boards. Thanks for all your input!
