    Serious BIG Air

There was an article in the local paper about a huge converted WWII bomber seaplane berthed at Lake Oroville. It has been converted to being used for fire fighting.

So this past weekend, we went to check it out.

It looks huge, even far away.

    And now some perspective.

I love this picture of little Jesse hanging on the back.

    Massive props

Massive wingspan, I was able to drive under the higher wing with my tige and the tall tower.

My parents and all of their kids on my pontoon gawking. I dig this picture.

    Another great perspective shot.

Last one, another great one of jesse, leaning on her sister with plane in BG.

That's pretty cool, nothing like that around here, just a couple of 2-seater float planes. I assume it's a firefighting water tanker?

Yes, they are parking it here, instead of sending back to canada, to save fuel, assuming its going to be needed somewhere down here again.

Its not the first time stuff like this has been berthed in oroville, its a huge lake, and room for landing and taking off, but also not as crowded as say Shasta.

The paper said it was 48ft tall. There is more info here on the the plane, and pictures of it in WWII.
