In-boat speaker position

    Yeah, That was the old box. Slot loaded port. Tried something different with a thinnner port and tuned it real low. Hit low but way to much port noise. Moved a lot of air though.

    So we re built the box. The box that is in there now is a slot loaded port. But what you are used to seeing on other slot loaded boxes as a larger slot. And then beveled the edge of the plexi piece so only the surround of the woofer is seen.

    I will have to get some pics as I dont have any of the new box.

      i'm going to port my subs this winter and i think the slit is clean looking

        Slot Loading not only looks better but IMHO sounds a lot better than a typical round port.

        Also, if you look at the manual for the XS-XXX woofer on our site. There is a cool box design I did that has a slot loaded triangle port.

        That box will work for the XS-12 as well.

        It looks cool but is easier to build than a regualr slot loaded and easier than even a port tube one. Build a sqaure box and then lay a shorter piece on the side at an angle.
