Army Corp of Engineers prohibits any sort of pesticide around the lake...It's a pretty hefty fine if you get caught breaking one of their rules. A window washer attachment and the pressure washer once a year keeps them at bay...I've thought of sneaking out there w/ some mesquito b gone and spraying the ceiling (pretty sure I could get it done before anyone knew what's up on a week day) - but I never have. We just deal with it - it's not that bad if you have a good crew.

As far as kid friendly goes - I would have to agree that my slip isn't all that kid friendly. Almost all the slips around me have decking w/ refrigerators, patio furniture, TV's/stereo's and on the weekend - it is a PARTY every single weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day. You just never know what you are going to see around there (seeing drunk people is a given). I've had to sleep on the floor of the boat a few times myself

This was my boat with the original owners dock. I haven't seen any problems with the interior or carpet from this type storage. But he might have been a real clean freak. I thought about renting a slip here on our lake but I just can't justify the cost with use. It's between $1200-$1600 depending on which marina you choose here. That's without the lift. I assume you have to buy those on your own.

Yo....I live in Overland Park and have a slip/lift out at Hillsdale lake. We trailered for 4 years, but 2 years ago we went to the slip/lift, it's no comparison. Probably saves 1 hour each boating trip.

Our marina does a good job of watching the docks, in 2 summers, nothing stolen, I do wipe down each time I get out. We have a nice table/chairs & Refridgerator at the dock. My "lake property" requires no maintenance.

Only downside is I used to fully clean/vaccuum/wash windows each time I'd come home and have boat air out in garage. There will be spiders, but ultimately it works great.

Not cheap, but you bought a boat (Tige) so you know spending the money is oftentimes worth it.
