If anyone is interested I have an anchor for sale that I acquired last weekend. I also have some tables and chairs and a bouy off of a box anchor, but not the box anchor its self.

Any takers send me a PM

Of the people who have a box anchor what size do you have???

The webpage recommends a small for a 24ft ski boat.

You need a large. I have a small from my oldboat and had some slippage. Got the large and no issues at all. Our boats are heavier than most.

I have a large box anchor for my 22i and it holds solid even when we boat in the Pitt River which is a very fast flowing tidal river.

This year I got tired of hauling out the heavy box anchor and purchased a Fortress Aluminum Fluke anchor (7lb FX-11). Based on my use in the Pitt River it seems to hold just as well as the box anchor which probably weighs at least three or four times more.

Now I just keep the Fortress anchor in the boat and only use the box anchor for mooring a couple of days or more.

This last weekend some A-Hole figured he needed it more then we did and he also figured he needed all the tables and chairs that the people next to us on the beach had left over night as well. That's right we got jacked.

The funny thing is they stole the buoy off the box anchor of the people next to us but not the anchor and stole our normal anchor. I guess they were not smart enough to realize ho much the box anchors are.

Now my question, is spending the extra cash on a box anchor worth it and if so what size should I get??? I figured I need a large.
Box anchor and a med is more than enough for your boat! best purchases ever!

Sucks when **** heads steal stuff. It pisses me off and makes me wish I could just be there with a rifle and put a bullet in the dirt bags head when he starts to take stuff that is not theirs.

Well then, I'll put the pudding I just helped myself to back in the fridge lest one of my coworkers shares your views

OK, I can get them for $144.00 plus freight. I will have to figure out that number. Freight is the night mare.

I am going to modify my answer. 90% of the time the small(non pwc small) will hold if you anchor in coves on a lake and not heavy winds. I had issues with the small in high winds with full bimini and 6 boards. Boat has never moved with the large.
One time when we worked the Jet Ski finals at Havasu I was anchored so long I could not get the dang box anchor up. It had buried itself several feet deep. A guy with a pontoon boat with a winch offerred to help and even with the winch the dang anchor was holding tough. Finally came up
