    Engines are always salvageable. When Building new engines I use used blocks. I've heard from a few pro race engine builders that 'weathered' blocks seem to be more stable.

      So how much could he get for the engine alone?

        $500-1000

        it depends on what kind of shape the engine is in and how many hours and what size it is. If it's a 350, they are a dime a dozen, anything else and it could bring more. If there is water in it, things will have rusted and there will be quite a bit of block clean up to do. If not it would bring more than 500 for sure.
