Bad Luck and Boat For Sale...

I have posted recently that i had a little misfortune this year and my 1996 pre2001 went under water...

well i have been back and forth whether to keep the boat or not and now im moving and trying to pursue a career in Real Estate. I am trying to get $5000 for the boat and trailer...the trailer needs work...the whole boat in general needs work..i have manually cranked the engine so i know it is not hydro-locked..i understand that this will be a hobby boat and it needs work before you can take it out....i am accepting offers and open to any suggestions if i cannot sell it..i have no clue where to even go with this...i have some pics here of the boat and some of it in the water...any info would be great!!!!!

sorry to hear about your bad luck, it's always a misfortune when someone's boat goes under. Good luck with real estate. The best time to get into any business is during a downturn according to a couple of my profs.

Does the boat run? Or is it dead right now. I would like to see some more pictures.

what happened to the engine cover?
I thought that you had a buyer for 5K?
How long was it under water?

Contact Talltigeguy he is in the market for a new boat.

            or

That looks like a project that Fast1911 could handle. The boat looks pretty beat up, did all of that happen from her going under????

I appreciate the compliment...............that would officially be more work than I put into mine, I hate to see that though a Tige in that condition just isn't right. To be really honest with you b.w. it will be hard to get 5K for it, I know that you don't want to hear that but the boat needs at least 10K worth of work done to it.........that puts someone at 15K+ and the boat probably isn't worth that...........it will take somebody with a lot of time and inspiration to put that back together, I put the time and effort into mine because I am a fanatic......but it was also my boat that I let go to hell.......maybe you can fix it up yourself over time...........

Wow that is rough shape. You might get $1000 for it but that is a big might. You will need new gages, Eng, Trans, Interior, steering system, Gel Coat repairs, and who know what else. It would be cheaper to buy a new boat.

yeah that's almost junk yard material. One would have to put more money into it than it would be worth once they are done. If it was a rare sought after model that would be a different story.

Isn't it possible to file an insurance claim for a totaled boat?

only if you have insurance...........WAAAAYYYY too many people dont because thay think "my boat aint worth much, screw it if it sinks" bad part is, the main reason for insurance is to have the Liability to protect you, the owner, when you are at fault, and to indemnify the other guy when we are at fault. Next is to protect our property when something like this happens.

For $25 a month, this boat could have been insured and covered for a total loss. Not trying to rub salt un your wounds, just hate to see this happen when coverage is so cheap.

Not everyone has insurance...I do, but not everyone. That is pretty rough. My dealer is putting back together a couple year old x-star, saltwater series, that someone bought at auction after it sank...in saltwater...to the tower. Not sure how much they got it for, but they are doing a lot to that boat so it had to have been pretty cheap!

To me it looks like it would take somebody with a lot of extra time on their hands to do something to that boat. Maybe he could get more for it if he parted it out, although the salvagable parts are probably very few.
