put some ballast in the boat to the point where the platform is in the water and you will see what I mean. To get the biggest surf wave, you will have to be running with extra ballast. Its not all about size, one that packs a punch is the best surf wave.

We never could get my buddies z1 to shape up nice like my ve or my buddies rz2. If it were me, I would being playing around with design out of something cheap like pine until you get what you are looking for as far as wave is concerned.

      We might have that addressed.

        Check out this thread.
        Who got lucky?

In this thread the swim platform is a teak one but still have the sharp angle and the problem was solved.

I believe that the new platform will have the same result.

In their defense, Tige is not the only company with that problem, MC also have boats that the swim platform cuts into the wake. I surfed on my friend's X2 and the swim platform cuts the wake just as bad.

The good part is that they did listen to customers feedback and in 09 the new swim platform is great. The bad part is that we (the 07 and 08 guinea pigs) do not have the new designed swim platform.

Again, that is just my humble opinion.

          Agreed....

dont get me wrong, I have a immitation teak platform and love it. Whoever made that custom did a nice job. It just looks exactly like my buddies z1,and rz2 platforms out of fiberglass. I still say it is the square corners, but what do I know, I never really had a problem making one of the sweetest waves I have ever seen with my boat.

I thought the issue RZ folks were having was with the "loaded" surf wake?

                *EDIT* oops, got answered.

That is a nice wake, but again I believe that the RZ2 with the new swim platform can get the same nice wake or better with the same weight.

I guess we will have to wait and see when someone post pictures of the surf wake with the new platform.

Let me know the results, my buddy with the rz2 is pretty frustrated seeing how his 03 20v made a beautiful wave. He is not running any bow weight and this could be the problem.(too much in the rear causing the platform to sink in the water)

With our teak platform we wanted to keep the RZ "look" - I actually thought about making it a rounded platform but thought I would try a narrower/shorter version that still kept the RZ lines, and we are really happy with how it turned out.

We tried to show the improvements with the pictures in the "who got lucky" thread, but they are really evident from the surfer's perspective...I don't think any of you are very close, but if anyone finds themselves near Indiana, I would be happy to show you first hand!
